Keyboard Nut Thread

As far 'gaming' keyboards go, I would put that K100 in the premium category for sure.

Just not too keen on the knobber top left, ruins the aesthetic of the thing for me personally.
Considering it has about a thousand LED's it's probably the most "gaming-est" keyboard to ever have existed  agreed on the knob though. Looks very gimmicky

Redragon (and Gamdias, to be fair) boards are awesome kit for their price point. They made mech keyboards accessible to everyone.

I'm sure the RK is a nice little bump in quality though.
The Redragon Draconic is very similiar, but yes, the RK is a bump in quality. I feel it in the build quality and other stuff.

Hey, thinking of buying the G815 today but not sure if I should go for linear or tactile, which version do you have ?
The linear. In retrospect I think tactile would be the one to go for as with keys that have this little travel distance you probably want a little resistance. Nothing really wrong with linear though just that it's easier to type like an Orangutan hammering on the keys bottoming them out.

Bottoming out keys.... You neanderthals.

But the pinging noise they make when they hit the body is so satisfying

The G815 doesn't ping. Sure they keys don't thocc like on the expensive stuff, but they still sound better than most.

Then again the epitome of typing sound to me isn't thoccs, though they are nice, or clicks, it's the wonderfully sproingy sound of buckling springs on old IBMs.

Sure sure, it's really hard to avoid on linears or speed switches though. For that you need MX Blacks if you've got my mallets but those seem to have gone extinct in recent years.

I jest. Majority of switches require much more attention than I care to give in order to prevent a bottom out.

I bottom out on all my switches expect for my burnt orange daily drivers and blacks.

Gents,

Which bluetooth TKL or smaller boards exist locally?

I suddenly had the urge to go full wireless on my mouse and keeb at my gaming setup.

Measure twice, print once. Thumb cluster needs a little tweaking, good proof of concept though!

Beautiful! Will the switches be mounted on the 3D print itself, or are you going to print a plate as well?

I've been debating having an FR4 plate made alongside the PCBs when I get there 🤔 Still undecided at this point!! But managed to get the tolerances real nice and it fits a charm as is, while being super low profile

I have pulled the trigger on a sofle PCB and a set of Tangerines, might even get them lubed by a mate of mine who is drop-shipping for me from Australia.

Anyone know where I can get a case cut for it? I don't really want to 3D print unless I have to

Stacked acrylic?

Started dialling my printer and profiles in for some smaller prints. Will be attempting a .2 nozzle tonight. If it's a success, I will have to finalise the colour-way for my Iris project and start printing the caps so long. I want to kit the board with 3D printed caps from day 1, to see if I can live with it. If I can, it will drastically reduce the cost of some projects I have planned.

Keen to hear your thoughts regarding that thumb cluster when you receive your toys!

I little birdy told me the Redragon Dragonic will finally be in stock again soon, it's nothing as cool as the other things happening in this thread but ~R900 for a 60% BT USB-C with hotswap brown switches can't be too bad.

Who stocks them?

For R900 I'll buy it.

@Soul Assassin - Heya, these just arrived in the country, and supplier has dispatched them to us. I imagine they will arrive in the next 2 - 3 days

We have quite a few preorders on them, and they are moving pretty quickly

Price on them is R861
