Keyboard Nut Thread

So i stumbled across this, i imagine theres a chance you could never get it. But this could be pretty nice for a work keyboard

Won't describe myself as a nut.

but can definitely say that moving from a membrane to mechanical keyboard, did give me some typegasms.

Old: Steelseries Apex 350
New: Corsair K95 Platinum (MX Browns)
I actually moved from a mechanical keyboard back to a mem-chanical keyboard. I liked the sound and feel of a mechanical keyboard but found the presses were just too hard for me (i know what i said) and would often while typing not actually press hard enough to activate the button and end up missing letters or not firing off skillshots in games like league

I just found that membrane keyboards are easier to work with over long periods of time... thats just me though

There are 100s of switches to choose from in the Mechanical world. I assume you were using something like a cherry mx black switch in your keyboard, which many find taxing to press and type on. This switch is often found in older point of sales systems.

You get extremely light switches as well, that press down on a whisper. Then everything in between.

If you want to give mechanical a try again, try your fingers on any 'red' or 'silent red' boards.

I cant remember what switches they were, it was a razer keyboard that i had for only a few months. God to know tho, appreciate the info. Know of anywhere where i can find a description of the different switches?
I've never really cared too much about peripherals other than the headset but I wouldn't mind a new keyboard in a few months time.

Mechanical Keyboard Switches

Maybe I just buy a Redragon Draconic for now because I'm also scared I don't like 60%, just a nice cheapy tester board and if I like it I can become a big boy with a Kemove Shadow and Glorious Panda switches.

I know this is the nut thread,, and asking is not the norm here but I'm quite nuts about my old razer blackwidow and she's dying on me. Is there someone here that has an old blue switch keyboard lying around they might sell to me.

I do have something to share myself I'm getting this Ducky MIYA Pro Forest Fairy 65% Dye Sub PBT Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Black, Brown, Blue, Red, Silver, Clear, or Silent Red switches at the end of November and is ducky excited about it
Gen 1 Cherry Blues are really good, decent boards with them are quite rare.

I have about 4 boards with them, but not selling unfortunately.

Gen1 blackwidows are amazing keyboards. What do symptoms is board showing?

I was afraid you are going to say sticky switches... With time, the leaf that causes the 'click' becomes stiff, and then 'sticks' the keys inside after a press. There is basically nothing that can be done, except replace them.

Sensitive switches is strange, maybe your springs are also fatigued. It would all depend on how often you use the keyboard.

I think a new board is your only real solution here.

Any keep suggestions for me?
I am looking to replace my full size mionix zibal 60 with either a 60% or tkl keyboard.

Cherry mx blacks are preferred but I have heard good things about gateron yellows and I have my eye on this https://www.amazon.com/HK-Gaming-Mechanical-Illuminated-Programmable/dp/B07TH7SN8M?th=1
A nice keycap suggestion would also be appreciated!

Local or Amazon preferred, budget is under 2k including shipping.
I appreciate any suggestions.

Yeah that was basically my thought as well, got a cheapish Red Dragon from rinners to use until I got my ducky. Will see how the red dragon works tonight.

Haven't used G513 but absolutely LOOOVE the G815. It's so low you will not miss the wrist-rest.
I'm done hunting for keyboards because of it.

Hey, thinking of buying the G815 today but not sure if I should go for linear or tactile, which version do you have ?

Just bought myself a 60% keyboard from a Carbie.

RK61, amazing quality, would recommend 11/10

had a redragon dark avenger TKL, this is an awesome upgrade, ngl

Ok so I know Corsair is not considered true keyboardophile kit. But damn. That K100
As far 'gaming' keyboards go, I would put that K100 in the premium category for sure.

Just not too keen on the knobber top left, ruins the aesthetic of the thing for me personally.

Redragon (and Gamdias, to be fair) boards are awesome kit for their price point. They made mech keyboards accessible to everyone.

I'm sure the RK is a nice little bump in quality though.
