Hey all!

Decided to start a little thread for the keyboard lovers out there. We can discuss new purchases and ideas here?

Lets start off by sharing our keeb list:
- 60% Poker (eeeeeeh, not too keen.)
- Custom ErgoDox. (not working, blueFruit bluetooth issues...)
- a few iterations of hand wired Atreus clones. (Getting there)
- 6 x CM storm QuickFire TK variants. (blues and blacks)
- 2 x Razer Blackwidow Gen1's with mx blues and the little blue light. ( <3 my babies)
- 1 x Corsair K something (Mx reds, eeww)
- 1 x Corsair K70 Lux with mx browns. (new daily driver at work.)
- Logitech G710+. (Sexy keeb this one.)
- Some cheapy boards with Otemu switches.
- a bag full of salvaged keys for future projects.

Favourite switches is mx blues by far, second browns, third blacks.

I used a mx blacks at work for a good few years before moving to browns.

What don't you like about the poker?

Won't describe myself as a nut.

but can definitely say that moving from a membrane to mechanical keyboard, did give me some typegasms.

Old: Steelseries Apex 350
New: Corsair K95 Platinum (MX Browns)

I've had mine for about years now... And I expected more. I was fine with it until a used a anne pro, and since then it feels the orignal poker does not live to the 'feel'. I should've gone anne pro.

Other than that, its an awesome keeb! I have it hooked up to the media pc. :)

Massdrop: Community-Driven Commerce

Personally I'd like to wait for this drop to come back, and buy the barebones kit. I'll throw on the Tai Hao Miami keycap set that Scott has in the mail for me.

Currently I'm using a steelseries m800, which is decent, I like it better than my old Corsair, but it left me slightly disappointed. The coolest thing about it by far is it's unique LED lights, which are built directly into the centre of the switch. Makes them look great.

Oooooohoh! I should talk to Scott regarding some Massdrop goodies. Those Miami caps will look sweet on the M800 dude.

Edit: Wait, will they fit the M800?

Unfortunately the m800 doesn't support MX keycaps. But their m750 does. Reason being that the light has to be in the centre, so there can't be a stem (see below)

However, this does have an upside. There is minimal key wobble on the m800, compared to most other keyboards I've tried, including a k70 (which really suffers from it)

^ that makes perfect sense.

Im swaying between getting an AnnePro next, or getting a proper blank orthilinear split kit. A lets split or ergo variant. Never tried ortho, and I think its time.

Oh goodness

Rzr Blackwidow gen 1 with blues
Ducky team OMG yellow with blues
CM Novatouch TKL with Tai Hao keycaps
Das Keyboard pro 4 blues
And a Crystal masterK with blues

Yesss yessss welcome!

That Ducky though... :3 Definitely on my wanted list... Whats your daily?

@PickleRick , our main dev swears by that exact style of ergo keyboard you listed. He uses an old PS/2 variant.

Theres always the ErgoDox if you want to go that route someday... Im finishing up a custom Atreus soon for some ergo action. I have an awkward typing style, since my body and hands are too big to comfortably fit side by side straight behind a keyboard.

Hopefully the Atreus solves that problem...

I am making an order to MechanicalKeyboards.com and KDBFans somewhere in the upcoming month...

If anyone wants to split shipping cost etc, drop me a PM!. :)

I will mainly be buying some switches and keycaps. Might throw in a pcb or two if I feel the vibes.

Stop you vile temptress

Got me some fancy-not-so-fancy tai hao Miami keycaps. Now all I need is a keyboard to put them on. [emoji52]. Tokyo60 is delayed until September, we may only see a new drop next year [emoji852]️

Very very nice dude! So jelly right now.

My current KB is the Logitech G19S. I do not type a lot and when I do I use the one finger per hand style. I'm trying to teach myself how to type properly.

I recently started doing more PLC work and programming/commissioning ABB robots so that forced me to start typing faster and a bit more efficiently.

The best method you can use the towel method. Throw one over your hands, and return your index fingers to their home rows after every word as start.

Then just type as much as you can. Like, a lot. Type quotes, books, everything. The more you type, the faster you will type. Just keep your index fingers on their keys and the rest will start doing their part. Good luck!

I am in process of getting to over 100wpm. I went from around 60 to 80 over the last month with around 1hour typing practice every other day. So progress is being made at least.

My teeny collection:

Asus Strix Tactical (Brown) : My home gaming kb
Gigabyte Aivia Osmium (Brown): Work programming kb
Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2014 (Razer Greens): The unloved orphan lying in the cupboard.

Had one of those CM Storm QuickFire TK in Blues, but sold it to someone who actually uses it.

Thus far the brown switches are my favorite. Though I haven't tried reds yet. perhaps the next one.
Reaaaaaly want a ROG Claymore, but the price is holding me back.

My main list
Corsair K70 (Cherry Reds)
CoolerMaster MasterKeys Pro L (Cherry Reds)
Logitech G710+ (Cherry Browns)
Ducky One (Cherry Reds)
Dreevo Joyuse (Kailh Blues)
SteelSeries 6Gv2 (Cherry Blacks)
Ducky One RGB (Cherry Reds) on its way

and a couple testers in between

My favourite board at the moment is a QuickFire TK fitted with lubes blues. Damn, I want to take that keyboard everywhere. Its a pitty I am not allowed to use blues in the office. So scummy browns it is.

How do you like the Khail Blues?

I'm using a ROG Claymore for daily use.
Makes typing just a bit more difficult because of having a UK layout instead of a US layout (shorter shift key and some other changes).

I dont want to comment on them because of the layout of the keyboard. They keys where extremely close together thus I would constantly make mistakes while typing but individually found that they where less clicky than cherries but worked for a keyboard at work that needed to be quieter and mobile

Don't get me started on iso layouts.... -_-

@Ant_Shrew , that is unfortunate... Would've like a solid comparison. My dad recently bought an ergodox with quick switch slots on the pcb... Tempting to buy a set of khail blues for him to try in contrast to the silent mx reds he chose. Converting everyone to tactile switches slowly but surely... :p
