This thread is waaaaay too quiet. Let's stir her up a bit.
The bike fever as me in a death grip, and all I see and dream are bikes. That being said, I desire a 'pure' superbike. Think R1, GSXR1000 or Panigale.
I LOVE the Panigale. Since @Wacko_ZA let me go for a short ride on his v4s I can't get the feeling out of my bones.
If you were in my shoes, what would you buy and why? I am on the verge of spilling the beans and buying a Ducati Panigale V2.
I had no desire to really own a Ducati. They are gorgeous bikes, don't get me wrong. There was just never that feeling. Until I fired that damn v4s up. It's out of this world. I obviously lack a ton of experience, and all I've really ridden was a R6, RR, a few GSs and ktm 1190s... But that Panigale swept me off my feet.Fourways BMW has a beautiful 1199 for R200k - Not sure about milage or year.
Made @D3TTOL drool like a horny 13year old in a girls sorority, so you should like it as well.
Seeing that you ride a S1000r, you are no newbie. So as long as you have some sense you should survive physically.I had no desire to really own a Ducati. They are gorgeous bikes, don't get me wrong. I don't know if I should first 'go through the motions' before going end game. Am I doing myself a disservice?
I hear you. I still have a lot to learn about cornering though. Looking forward to my first track day, just need to sort out a few things. So I am still far away from using all the power and capability of the S1R, especially when it comes to cornering.Seeing that you ride a S1000r, you are no newbie. Don't fool yourself by telling yourself that is the endgame though, you will always want a stronger bike.
It's a rule. You will eventually get "used" to the power, if you don't - You're not using all the power, so you're wasting it.
Just my 2c though.
Not really missing much. I would say you're gaining. By the time you would eventually upgrade, there will be "better" bikes on the market than the current performance leaders.I hear you. Let's dream for a moment, and I buy a V4S. Am I missing something by not spending a few years driving 'lesser' bikes? Just scared for that 'now what?' moment if that makes sense.
I've only owned many superbikes my fave being the s1000rrThis thread is waaaaay too quiet. Let's stir her up a bit.

This is exactly what I meant by saying "Never enough power"I've owned a:
Ducati 996
Honda vfr 400
Honda cbr 600 03 05 07 08
Honda cbr 1000 05 07 09
Yamaha r6 03 07
Yamaha r1 08
Suzuki 750 srad
Kawasaki zx4 98
Kawasaki zx6 02
Kawasaki zx10 05 09
LmaoooThis is exactly what I meant by saying "Never enough power"
I've only owned 4 bikes over the last three years
That's why I had power commanders in someLmaooo
Just for that extra bit of power before the inevitable upgrade ?That's why I had power commanders in some
So what you're saying is I should definitely buy a the V4S?More power is only relevant if you're one of those guys who want to do highway runs as 300+ or smash robot to robot with a 1290.
You don't need a lot of power at all, you need a bike that can corner well and some track exp. then you get to use all the power and its an insane rush.
So what you're saying is I should definitely buy a the V4S?
Nah I wish. Can't justify the price tag at this point in time. But the V2, or a used 1190... Hmmmm.Only so i can also ride it. then yes if no.. I'm telling your wife (GF, Future wife-even if she isn't in the picture yet #FutureDoom).

Now to wait for the rona to fuck off so I can get my license sorted.

Did it overheat as I know 390 have a tendency to do that.
