It's surprising that after the first few rounds they havent, seemingly, put in better mitigation strategies. Or perhaps they have, I don't really know. Just strange that this is the new norm.@PaladinLaw Not sure what you mean, they cost the same as other ISPs, and their service has been great. Not sure if I should be pissed at an ISP because someone decides to attack their network (might even be a competitor, maybe the one you pay? Who knows?)
RSAweb has a similar notice up, other ISPs might also be affected.
Clearly outside their control. Just not cool. I want to game, dammit.
Best thing I did was to migrate from that shit showReally, again with the DDOS amplification Attacks?
If this is still here by Tuesday when my holiday starts, I will be unhappy,
Not out of their control. It's relatively trivial to diverge a ddos.@PaladinLaw Not sure what you mean, they cost the same as other ISPs, and their service has been great. I'm on Cool Ideas - connection seems to be working 100% now
It was fine for a brief moment but it's falling apart again right now...
It's definitely not happening to everyone. So whats the point. Last time it happened to CISP, I cancelled with them a couple of weeks later. Now its happening to seemingly everyone. No point in moving between ISPs if they'll just join the list of attacked -.- fucking assholes
It's definitely not happening to everyone.
Which provider are you with?
I can recommend Rocketnet or HomeConnect.
Moved from Telkom to Axxess then to CI then to Rocketnet - Rocketnet was awesome.
Then moved from Rocketnet to HomeConnect (for pricing) - just as awesome.
CI was great for a while - it all went downhill and fast. Was to be expected though.
These sort of services allows one to chop and change and chase either better service or better pricing or a good combination of both. It's relatively easy.
Managed to convince quite a number of folks to try HC - and all have ditched CI for HC
