Hi Guys

Please tell me this means we can now have local servers for R6 Siege and does anyone know when we getting Local servers?

Below article says that Azure ExpressRoute service is now live in JHB & Cape Town, which from my understanding is we finally have Local Azure services (When I first read Express route I thought it meant we have a more direct route to the EU but the article makes it seem like we have Local servers)

Azure ExpressRoute now live in South Africa

Keep in mind the date of the article, probably take a while before it rolls out to us in a gaming way.

Also keep in mind, you can't even buy R6S on Steam yet... only uPlay - that's another issue completely, but it shows you the state of things.

Ubi confirmed live at the last Invitational that we’ll get local servers in SA once Azure is live. So although we don’t have a confirmed date, local Siege servers should happen this year.

Azure is not rolled out here yet. From what I hear it's likely to be end of the year only, and may even slip to 2019. It's also unclear whether all services will be rolled out simultaneously or if it will be phased, meaning we don't know when the game server services will be available.

I wouldn't hold my breath on this. Rather keep an eye on the South Atlantic Cable System, which promises to deliver sub-100 pings to South American servers by September. I think there's a Siege server in Brazil.

I have R6S on steam however I purchased a key online, worked out very cheap :) But I hear what you are saying, sure they will add it to SA Steam once there are local servers

Sounds good although I would have preferred a more direct cable to Australia TBH (if we could get sub 100 ping to australia)

If we get local servers, I will come back to this game. I actually loved this been playing since day one. However I find it more fun with mates. And most of them roll LTE, so for me it's fine but for them twitch shooting can be infuriating and even find myself getting annoyed when you need just that little bit less ping.
