Description of Bad Deal:
Following has been posted incorrectly in the smack talk forum.
Good day Carbonite
I would like assistance regarding a purchase I made from one of the members. We had come to an agreement on 17 November 2023. Payment had been made the same day and I was assured that delivery would be arranged asap. I gave it time as the member had said they had some difficulties. Once I was told that delivery was not being arranged the member suggested meeting as they were going to be close to where I live during the following weekend. I agreed to this.
The member was seemingly transparent and easy to communicate with throughout. Then the day came for them to travel and the bigger excuses started to come out. This ranged from terrible vehicle trouble, to a possible traffic collision. I was told that they were not injured though I sympathised. I continued to try and arrange a meeting to get what I paid for but then messages started being delayed as if only going through once they opened WhatsApp. During this debacle I asked for the money to be returned and said once we meet I would take possession of the item and gladly pay them for it again. The member agreed to this term.
Since then I have asked for the money I have been met with various excuses as to why it hasn’t be paid back. Bank delays and a specific bank being at fault. I was sent a screenshot showing the money being paid but it does not show my details, only that it was paid out of their account.
The member graciously provided details about themself that I had not asked for such as a photo of their ID and where they were from. I found that to be a genuine act of sincerity. Now I feel as if I had been led on continuously. I do not know why they bother replying to my messages as they keep kicking the can down the road. Further examples of this come in the form of telling me they have an account with the same bank I use yet when I ask for the payment to be made I have to wait for the message to go through, then for it to be read, then wait for a reply. The reply comes hours later and it starts with apologies and says nothing about payment being made yet I’ve provided my details on more than one occasion. This has continued to this day as I was told by the member that payment would be made. I will tell you all that at the time of making the post I have not heard back from the member, therefore I feel I need to act. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
The product is a used gpu. I had sold my gpu off forum in an effort to cut down the cost of buying this one. Therefore I am unable to post this with my pc, typing all of this on my phone. I know I seem foolish but I did not have this problem on Carbonite before as the community are generally friendly. Sucks that this happened.
