Description of Bad Deal:

Sent a PM to the seller on Friday for the Xbox he is selling. He confirmed that it was still available and I gave him my cell for Whatsapp. We agreed on shipping and I made the payment on Saturday. Sent him the POP and since then had no response from the seller. He said he was on the farm for the weekend so he has bad signal. Sent him a message on carb on Sunday 8 am asking to reply asap. He was online at 2pm. Still no response from the seller, his phone goes through to voicemail when I try to call him and haven't heard a word since Saturday.
 
Sorry, you have been scammed. He scheduled his account for deletion, and I just canceled it. Send me a PM and I'll send you his information (he tried to edit it) before he decided to scam you, and you can open a SAPS case against him.

Why, do you know him personally? Because he changed his info and scheduled his account for deletion right after taking the money. Reason for deletion is just "Xoxo"

No, but given he has 22 itraders and has bought and sold its hard not to be found. Thats what my WTF was aimed at.

I think Judge's reaction is due to the account - dating back to 2015, with 22 positive feedback... Seems like it means less and less.
 
Doesn't matter how old it is, he's scamming now. I found his Facebook page, old workplace, everything. I've managed to get people to pay back the money before with less solid proof and evidence, so I'm holding thumbs OP can get his money back.

Well, if OP goes to SAPS I'm pretty sure then your close shave would still count as an attempt to commit fraud/theft so another potential charge on a charge sheet.
 
FFS i bought the I5 pc he was selling last week as well. Please send all known info of him to me as well so we can all hammer him for refunds

Let me know ASAP please. I see his IP did jump, but not internationally like a common hack. I want to make sure he wasn't hacked before we ruin his life.

Will do, he says his bank is frozen. Gave him 2 hours to make the payment
 
I have a phone number of his , from previous dealings , if anyone needs. Not sure what number you guys have.

Never had any issues with him , when we dealt last year October
 
His last good deal was on the 1st of April and was a higher value item, I wonder what changed and why he scammed now?
 
UPDATE:
@Ki11eM refunded me in full today. His accounts are still frozen with the bank. He has done his best to rectify what has happened. @Joshmeister is still waiting on his funds but got confirmation that it will be paid tonight. Will close bad deal thread as soon as Josh got his refund.

Glad the situation turned around, but it was definitely not a pleasant experience :/

great that the situation has turned positive.

But still worrisome that this happened, what would the reason be for this happening?
also seeing that others where ready to pay for other items.

So what actually happened? Was the guy hacked/someone else used his bank account etc (accounts frozen by the bank?) or did he intend to scam but got cold feet after realising that he was caught?

Is @Ki11eM safe to deal with, is he banned, is his account deleted... what's the story?

I’m not sure why he did what he did or what his reasoning was. But I know for a fact that he was not in a hurry or even trying to reach me to confirm that he got the funds etc.

The number we are communicating on now is completely different than the original number. I had to go and ask previous traders for previous numbers to actually get a hold of him. Have to say part of it was my own fault, I trusted his itrader and the years that he has been on carb. He was selling a sealed xbox so didn’t initially think to ask for pictures as he was also on the farm and didn’t have the unit with him when I paid. Till this moment he was unable to provide photos of the products he wanted to sell to me and @Joshmeister. So I don’t know if he actually had these items in the first place.
 
OK so for the sake of clarity, I have lifted the ban on @Ki11eM for now. @Royal_47 if it wouldn't be too much to ask, please tell him his input here is urgently required. I like to think I'm a fair person so I'm willing to give him a shot to explain what happened here. Depending on his answer, and if I believe it, he'll be allowed to either stay or the ban will be reinstated. Time will tell.

I called the bank to freeze the accounts, they told me that they are unable to do that without a SAPS Case number. Somehow Ki11em's accounts still got frozen.

I got his other cell from heinrich who previously dealth with him. I sent him a message that only had one tic (didn't go through), decided to send a message on my friend's phone that immediately went through (This was 2-3 min apart & my message still didn't go through) I found out what his name was from heinrich (Let's say Pietie). My friend asked him "Is this Pietie?" He responds with: "No, this is Jaco but how can I help?" We then told him that we will be opening a case with the SAPS. He then asked for my number (which he had on his other phone) and said that he was sorry he was busy etc etc. All of the sudden he messages me and says he didn't run away with the money and so forth, I could now send texts to him but my first message was still not going through (My messages to his other cell is also one tick only) I can only assume he blocked me on all devices and as soon as we said we're going to the SAPS was when he unblocked me. (I can only assume this)

So my question is: He was online before my friend sent him a text and he responded immediately after the first text, why not let your buyers know that you received their funds, you're a bit busy and will get back to them at this or that time? Plus why lie about your name? Why say your name is Jaco when it is not? Too much fishy stuff and red flags, I told him that I'm thankful that he refunded me, and I really am glad to have the funds back but I will definitely not deal with him again and will definitely recommend other users to stay away.
