Hey, I recently built my new PC but I'm running into some technical difficulties. All parts were purchased from Evetech apart from the GPU.

When I powered it on for the first time everything seemed normal. I was able to get into BIOS and change boot drive options. However, after restarting I can't get my display to work and my mouse and keyboard don't receive power.

Does anyone know what the issue could be? And has anyone had experience with Evetech's return/exchange process?

Would really appreciate any help :)

Please give us your PC specs.

Specifically, what GPU and what CPU?

Have you tried resetting the CMOS settings and seeing if it makes any difference?

oohhhh gatta patatta here we go......... opening a can of worms with Evetech return policies with these people.

Apart from that, did you change anything else in BIOS? Memory timings etc? This could literally be anything from the case shorting to cables to PSU to BIOS changes to whatever......

Start with the obvious and disconnect everything, then plug in things 1 by 1. This goes for internal and external parts.

No didn't change anything else in BIOS. Had a look around though and saw all my components register there.

I'll try connecting everything again one by one... In terms of components what can I plug out and still safely turn it on?

@Earle if you were closer could try take a look for you but you're like in another country

It's tough to diagnose via a thread, it's like a doctor checking what is wrong with you over the phone..... possible just tough

AMD 5 7500F
AMD Red Devil 6900XT

Yeah so I took it to Computer Mania and they did that. Said they got display for a couple minutes and then it gave same issues again after a restart

Going to change my answer after thinking about it.

Take out memory, power it on. Check onboard gfx vs gfx card by taking out the gfx card and using onboard gfx if it has that.

Also mention (make and specific model of each):

Motherboard
RAM
CPU cooler
PSU
SSD/HDD
Anything else connected to the PC. Any fans? RGB goodies?

Was everything but the GPU bought brand new and never used before?

Was the GPU working correctly in another build before?

Using a riser cable by chance?

If so, might want to fix it to PCIe 3.0 in the BIOS.

Had an issue whereby motherboard would negotiate to PCIe 4.0 successfully on initial boot, but after that, no display. Turned out my riser cable couldn't handle PCIe 4.0.

MSI B650-S Wifi
Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 6000mhz
Nzxt Z63 AIO
Cooler Master V1000 1000W
Corsair MP600 Core XT 2TB
Only 2 fans are connected (ones that came with the case)

Everything else was bought new and the GPU was tested in another system and is working perfectly

Other small obvious things to try

* Make sure fans etc are spinning when powered on
* Different cable for HDMI / DP - Also different ports
* Remember to plug in 24 pin and 8 pin CPU

Gonna be a bit difficult, no?

Anyway, who installed the CPU? Might be a good idea to check for bent pins.
Lol this is true.
First try boot with 1 ram module. Try all slots.
If you post then enable/disable xmp.

Friends pc had same problem last week. New install, then all of a sudden no display. Eventually got post with 1 module. Xmp gremlins fixed and now all works.

are you enabling xmp in the bios before restarting? i had this problem a couple months ago. a bios update fixed it but to get the display back, I would take out the CMOS battery as well as the GPU for 5 mins or so then re-install. also try running with one ram stick.

mouse and keyboard don't receive power

This feels like a motherboard hardware problem,

Yeah the CPU and DRAM LEDs are lit up on motherboard

Check the manual on this, but generally speaking lights ON means there is a problem, lights off means no problem.

Remove your gpu and use a very basic gpu like a gt 710 and see if you still have issues.

@Earle this is a very good point, if you're using a riser, try go without to riser, or set the PCIe link speed to 3.0.

Also have you tried people's suggested solutions of trying to start up with all the non-essentials (SSD, fans) disconnected and also with only one RAM module?

Did you let the RAM and CPU run all it's timings and adjustments on first boot?

They say leave it for at least 5min at times.

Also check if you used the correct PSU cables for each component for example the CPU cables can look like another cable but for different purposes. I had this problem building my brother's pc connecting the wrong cable to the CPU and the cables weren't labeled (it didn't boot up the 1st time like yours though)

Didn't OP state that Computer Mania took a look at it? Did they give any findings or troubleshoot further?
Yeah the CPU and DRAM LEDs are lit up on motherboard
I had this with an intel board, was able to fix this by updating the bios

Had the same issues building a pc in December.
Cpu - unbent a pin (despite following manufacturers instructions to install)
Moved ram stick
Moved gpu from pcix16 slot to another
Each step Moved to the next flashing light.
Finally posted - did a bios update

All good

@Earle did you get this resolved? I'm in CT, might be able to assist you with identifying the issue.

Got it sorted, thanks everyone for the suggestions :) looks like my pc just decided to work after a week after plugging ram in and out
