Yeah I know that Apple updates its software to make the older models run slower. I am not sure if that is what is causing this issue though
I have a Late 2013 Imac 27" EMC 2639. For the last 6-8 Months I havent been using it a lot as it has had a booting issue where it takes ages to boot up. I suspect it might be a HDD issue, but cant get into the OS easily to test anything. Booting up to the loading screen takes 5-30min. Previously it even took 5 hours and didnt boot up.
Once i enter my password it takes another 15-45min to log in. It is very slow and not at all like it was.
What can i do or test to see what is the issue? I need to transfer my photos from the HDD so I cant just wipe it all and start over, having about 3 years of family pictures is waht is delaying a whole format.
