Hey guys,

I am in Shenzhen for the week. Things are crazy cheap here! Going back to Hong Kong next week and then back to Africa I come.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what I should get while I am here?

PS. I picked up a second hand Samsung S8 for a steal, there are so many second hand phones here!

I am staying next to the SEG tech market!

Are you sure you picked up a 2nd-hand S8? Don't forget whilst cheap you are also in the land of the copies. And as many fakes as we get here I'd think the number would be around 75% higher over there.

R3200 for S8. it's legit. I have one from SA to compare.

Decide what you need, then go in and get ONLY that!
Linus (Tech youtube dude) went through there and wasted some bucks and spent a day wondering around trying to build a great machine, but ended up with average priced machine in the end.
Meh -shrug-
...oh, and have fun :)

I'd look for ES CPUs
Apparently a i7 6700 ES is about 50 USD/800 rand, with a Z170 BCLK Bios it can reach about 4.2GHz

He went with that Strange Parts guy and showed the world how much of a intolerant and arrogant cunt he is. He definitely lost some subs there.

you need an asus (or asrock but lower/difficult clocking) z170
and even if they sell the i7 6700 ES aka i7 6400t es, its gonna be much more than 50 USD if you want a good stepping - easily 600yuan ~ 100USD?
but ya i have one and it's performing the same as 6700 nonk - great value for money imo

If you are into drones etc I hear DJI drones are crazy cheap there.

thanks guys.

I saw some fake 2TB flash sticks yesterday.

they took the logo from Kingstons HyperX memory line and made it a brand to try fool people.

HyperX 2TB flash stick. lol

was definitely not Kingston. was some fong Kong company.

I got my 6700 to 4.4 with z170 Asrock board via bclk but those es chips are still cheap. Just getting a board is the hard part

I once tried to blck overclock my 6700 non K. 4.5, no problem, beautiful temps and all. But then I benchmarked, and it wasn't actually faster. It messes with your memory timings, or something. I then updated motherboard BIOS, no more blck overclock, but then I could run normal RAM. Benchmarks are actually better, and more consistent for me now than it was with blck overclock.

Just make sure you are getting the improvements you think you are. /2c

Yeah i ran benches and my scores did improve. My i5 6400 had the most gains with blck oc managed to get that to 4.5 from 3.3ghz. I've since left my. I7 on stock as I ran my fans around 80% so keep decent temps so I ended up getting annoyed with the noise. XD

Wasn't entirely sure about pricing but yeah also think it's a decent value option if you have a Z170 that supports it about.
The Z170 rabbithole seems to run deep though, loads of mods for stuff like the OCF,you can even run CFL CPUs it seems and even OC then to a degree if you have a good enough board.
