Hi everyone, I need some help please.

TL;DR = Please help me fix my 3080 drivers

I upgraded my AMD R9 fury GPU to a RTX 3080 and now I'm having some trouble to make it work.

What I did (forgive me it's my first time upgrading any PC components):
Powered down, unplugged R9 and inserted the 3080.
Started PC and installed Nvidia drivers. Everything was zoomed in, pc was very jittery etc.
So I Apps->Uninstalled all Nvidia drivers (528.02) and ran it as is, think it was 517.
Then it kinda worked, but I had black screens for about 5 seconds every time I opened a new Chrome tab. PC also restarted a few times.
Then I installed 527 and it worked a bit better.
Also updated windows 10 somewhere here.
Then I plugged in my second screen and it was much better! For a while, then the original screen blacked out and was not picked up.
Somewhere along the lines I noticed that my GPU is not picked up in the Task Manager.
I then read that the AMD drivers needs to be removed, so I installed UDD and removed AMD and Nvidia drivers.
Boot up once more, reinstalled 528 and everything was working perfectly.
Switched the PC off, came back 2 hours later and it was worse than ever, without changing anything.

So I took it to Matrix where they've always helped me before, they plugged it in and it worked with no issues? Ran lots of stress tests and everything was 100%. Took it home all excited and again, very zoomed in, task manager not picking up GPU etc.

So long story short, I need someone to either be able to assist in person or over a video call or something to help me sort this GPU. I'm based in Protea Heights in Brackenfell if anyone nearby will be willing to help?

I am not the most tech savvy but just from this I would suggest starting your PC in safe mode and then running DDU. Uninstall all AMD drivers and restart your PC again into safe mode and then Uninstall all Nvidia drivers.

Power your PC back on normally and install the latest Nvidia drivers.

Are you also using the correct power cable for your Power Supply? Seems weird that it worked perfectly at Matrix but gives issues at your home. Maybe try with a different power extension too just to be safe and run only 1 monitor until everything seems to be fine.

Display Driver uninstaller to remove all residual driver files, do it for both AMD & Nvidia drivers just to be safe.

Before doing so go to Device manager -> Display adapters, check if this picks up the Nvidia gpu and if there is that yellow triangle caution sign next to it and if so double click and see what error code the pop-up window gives.

This.

I get this error:
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
This is even after using the DDU to remove AMD, then removed Nvidia and then installed the latest Nvidia driver.
Task manager still not picking up GPU.

Is your windows fully up to date?

@ecKARd what power supply are you using with this? A decent 800 Watt I think should be fine?

Did they run this on a separate computer? What was that Computers Power Supply rated for?

In the past I've had all signs pointing to driver issues when in fact it was power. The GPU doesn't receive its desired power, and can sometimes cause a driver disconnect

Yes Windows 10 Pro is fully up to date.

They ran it in my box, so only change was a different cable to the PSU (750W), a different HDMI cable and screen.
Then he also plugged in a flash with all his tests on it.

Thanks everyone.
I've reinstalled windows, and then the drivers again. Still zoomed in and have the Code 43.

Anything else I should try? Shall I take it somewhere again?

Reinstall Windows again but keep the PC off the internet, and install the nvidia driver from a USB drive.

Maybe also untick GeForce Experience.

Nvidia recommends 750W PSU for the founders edition when paired with a 10th Gen 10900k CPU.

Found some advice on Google. It said to disable and then enable the gpu in device manager.
Did that, restarted and all seems to be in order now.

Will update to see how long it lasts, I have been here before and then one restart and it's back to square one.

Ryzen 5 3600
2 x 8GB Ram
RTX 3080
750W PSU
ASUS ROG Strix B450-F MoBo
500Gb SSD
Windows 10 Pro
RGB fans

That's everything I know

Did you buy the card new? If it was a ex mining card it might have a modded bios (Not sure if it's a thing with nvidia these days).

Try updating motherboard and maybe gpu bios? I've never heard of this being a solution but who knows.

What's the full name of the PSU, could be some chinese junk.
