Help verifying whatsapp

I am trying to verify my whatsapp number but every time I choose call me it says "we couldn't call your number. Please check your number and try again" . It is a landline number so I cannot use sms. Has anyone else experienced this?

Did you put in the country code as well as your regional telephone code?

And did you remember to omit the 0 from the regional code?

e.g. if your landline number is (011) 123 4567 then the number should have been input as: 111234567

Nah the country code is separate and gets autofilled or selected from a dropdown menu.

Yep, as long as the line can receive data calls, I guess.

The only perk I can think of is that people with Whatsapp will be able to call you from the app, i.e. using data instead of minutes.

After 120 days of inactivity WhatsApp deleted the account and we were able to get it back by creating a new account and verifying with a call.
