My wife recently started working from home doing online teaching. She has been getting by with an old webcam I have had for a while on a mic between my headphones I use for work, old steelseries wireless set I have and mice built into the webcam. We mix and match around my plans for the day and her lessons etc.

I am looking at getting her a set of wireless earbuds with a decent quality built in mic or dedicated USB mic etc. But darn, some of these things are pricey!!

Does anyone have any recommendations based on their own experience when it comes to shopping for these things?

Wireless would be a winner for less clutter on the desk. But battery life would need to be up to 9 hours with an overnight charge for next day’s lesson.

Budget wise? Really don’t want to be spending over R800 on this. Another factor to consider is my motherboard does not have built in Bluetooth. So would have to come with a dongle. I have seen some wireless headsets online in region of R500 for sale but she doesn’t want the over head design. She says they feel too big and bulky. For example, she despises my SteelSeries saying they too big. I said they are comfortable, but she doesn’t like them.

So earbuds it is.. Thoughts and advice?

AFAIK, buds will have inferior audio quality to an overhead headset.
Unless you get a pair with a boom mic.

Twitch/youtube/etc streamer equipment is applicable so try find something on carb.
