Hi,

So as im about to swap out my k9n2 mobo for a crosshair ii,

I was thinking, can i change mobo without formatting, or reinstalling win7 if i install the drivers for the crosshair mobo before i take out k9n2, what are the chances of getting sob bsod on 1st boot with or without the drivers?

Which would be the best way to swop mobos without formatting/reinstalling win7

Thanks.

When changing mobos i always reinstall windows just to keep things clean.

But you shouldnt have a problem with windows 7. Just install the new motherboard and after boot install drivers. Windows 7 has so many generic drivers you should be good to miss a bsod.

Agreed. I went from my old MSI 790FX-GD70 (AMD) to an Asus P8P67 (Intel) without a hitch :)
