Hi

Might end up being one of the pre-friday Friday threads.

https://carbonite.co.za/index.php?feedback/feedback/190376/view - negative feedback got here, by a young dude as well I see.

What I did as memory best serves.

- Contact with seller via PM then move to WhatsApp
- Get pictures, formalities
- Ask to hold the item until I can source some funds (19-year-old me, not thinking about financial stability really, just wanted the item)
- He sends messages in between but to me, in my head I'm safe till my deadline, lack of communication here which probably gave scammy vibes.
- Get closer to the deadline, then I backed out, but with a message stating I miscalculated this and couldn't afford it. Truthfully, really still wanted item, just couldn't afford
- Dude drops this rating, which I don't entirely blame the oke for since he could have needed the cash or whatever reason.

Now I would like to ask this is because it looks kak to have and since then I have done multiple other deals with feedback. So I have some track record to disprove the scammy part
The other reason is the Business account was my business account which still operates, I have another thread in the jobs wanted section that links to related bits proving this (My company for my side projects and whatnot)
And why in person was okay, I have family who were located close to the area hence making this a nice deal for me since I could get my people to test.

I'll take my faults. But this rating sort of paints a picture that isn't the best, and my dealings after might have some substance to accredit me and discredit the assumptions made in that. Like factually I communicated poorly so will take that

Now, do I just Stfu and take the loss or can I do anything? (BESIDES BEING A BETTER PERSON, SINCE I'M TRYING!)

Like it hasn't hindered a sale, and of course if my actual actions warrant red then sure
But damn If there is a way to rectify I'd like to take it,

EDIT- A lot of this is just based on me not appealing it sooner, although as it stands I have more actual evidence now vs then to prove my validity in anything really

We would need to ask @Hau in a masterball if he feels the rating should stick or if we can change it to neutral. Seeing as you have proven you aren't a scammer.

*edit* moved to support section before Smack talk trolls get stuck in.

Did you say "I'll definitely take it come month end" and he said "it's definitely yours come month end?"

Or did you say something more like "I'm interested, can you hold it for me and we can confirm the deal come month end?"

Oh, so with certainty I requested a temp hold. I said i was interested, and then promised to update him by the date. The thing is between that frame I was very distant and didn't really communicate, so wasn't like a done deal where just money was left to be sent, at that point of the hold was still trying to get my uncle locally to go check it out which as well we did not get to.

@FatManK I've got the same thing on my profile, I mistakenly posted the wrong link of the laptop I sold (I had two links and chose the wrong one by accident, looked exactly the same I swear)

offered to come fetch it immediately with an immediate refund, he said nah I still like it and then proceeded offered me a hol touch which I declined....so he gave me neutral review. The last part is 50% true.

Sounds kind of like the deal wasn't agreed upon by both parties, in which case, no rating should have been done at all. But the mods will have the final say.
