You ridden yet? How is it?What a waste of time. If I'm not annoying at least 2 neighbours per ride then I'm just selling the bike.

No, it doesn't have any suspension or wheels attached at the moment so it is very slow. Will ride it once it's complete I reckon. You ridden yet? How is it?
From side to side on the widest points of the panniers, around 1,1m. Maybe a little less.@HNO3ZA how wide do they make the bike?
Haibo
My 1250GS's battery packed up otherwise I would have taken a ride to Val over the weekend. I enjoy the cooler weather, eventhough we are not having TOO much of it yet.Is anyone still riding or has everyone taken a break due to the colder weather?
Took the 1200 on it's first gravel the other day, didn't do anything ridiculous (60-70kmh) and was rather impressed at how stable she is.
Did get a bit of a fright after being chased by a dog on the road, glad it ended well for all parties😂.
Ah, sorry to hear that Wacko! Time for that 1300GS ...My 1250GS's battery packed up otherwise I would have taken a ride to Val over the weekend. I enjoy the cooler weather, eventhough we are not having TOO much of it yet.
With the dirty stuff, do some training if you have the $$$. I can not recommend Country trax highly enough!
Also, speaking from experience, as @PandaAttack1 would tell you, ride YOUR speed, a speed where you feel comfortable grabbing a hand full of front brake in a panic stop.
Learn to trust the bike and the riding aids. dont listen to the ballies telling you to switch ALL of that off lol
Mornings and evenings are getting cooler here in Gautengaleng. What cold? 31 degrees today 😭
Cape Town Cold...What cold? 31 degrees today 😭
Rain , cold , balls dehydrating heat is all fine but damn I hate wind while riding 😮💨Cape Town Cold...
15°C with gusts up to 40km/h, perfect riding weather

Can I dibs this ?Hay Chappies and chapettes
Just thought i would do my good deed for the month.
If anyone has a S21 and they would like a SP Connect cover for their phone, i have my old one that i no longer need.
You would need to buy or have a SP Connect mount, not the SP+ through as that has a different mount..
Anyway if you want, just give me a shout!
I would venture to say that being accredited in ZA to give offroad training, is better. 😆 (Nevermind that BMW Germany themselves test their bikes at Country Trax.... 👀)Firstly: Cold? What cold?
My son & I took a ride out to Potch last Wednesday for the North West Motorshow. Saw some really nice cars, had a nice ride, I had some National Service memories come flooding back when I saw the ELGRO Hotel - but that's a story for another time & place.
Lots of riding happening, just not to the usual oh-so-overdone places from Jozi.
For offroad training on a GSA the best (IMO) you can get is Thomas Bohm from Sabie Valley Riders Academy. He is BMW Motorrad accredited (Germany, not ZA) and knows his stuff. You will be astounded at what he can do on a GSA. As an added bonus the hospitality will bowl you over.
Yap, just for clarity sake, Country Trax IS a BMW motorrad school, both the owner and his son (the owner of city trax) are BMW Motorrad germany trained, and have been on the scene for well over 3 decades.I would venture to say that being accredited in ZA to give offroad training, is better. 😆 (Nevermind that BMW Germany themselves test their bikes at Country Trax.... 👀)
There are GS Trophy winners in the Country Trax stable. Not comparing or saying the one is better than the other. They all have their accolades etc.
Send pappi!Can I dibs this ?
Will send you a whatsapp.
So boys, thoughts on the KTM RC990R road bike going into production?
We have been asking for a superbike for a while.... is this it?
There is a method in all this for KTM, as they want to enter world SuperSport racing (600cc class, but if you race a twin a bigger capacity is allowed, just ask Ducati), but it has to be a "street bike" not a prototype ala motogp.
Would you grab one? do you think its saxy?
From the mag:
"KTM 990 RC R road-legal version coming in 2025.
Scheduled to hit the production line in early 2025, the KTM 990 RC R is not just a track machine but also street-homologated, catering to orange enthusiasts and street riders alike. To showcase its racing pedigree, KTM will introduce a prototype in select European Supersport series as a wildcard entry in early 2024.
Riaan Neveling, Head of KTM Global Marketing - “The KTM 990 RC R is a groundbreaking innovation for those who live for the thrill of cornering. It's for those who lean close to the road, almost brushing their knees, and then push the limits, dragging elbows to the tarmac on the racetrack. This bike offers power and prestige without the exorbitant price tag. At last, we can unveil our KTM 990 RC R and introduce a truly exceptional motorcycle to dealerships in early 2025, fulfilling the anticipation of countless riders and race enthusiasts. Our DUKE Range and other Street products have garnered a loyal following for their distinct character; we believe the KTM 990 RC R will quickly attain cult status because it excels at the two things it was designed for so remarkably well. Success will be evident on the track, but the unparalleled experience for customers on the road will truly set it apart.”
I went there. Great store overall but yea, not too many bikes. So I popped by yamaha linex (was called world of yamaha before) and again they didnt have a demo of the new R7 or even an R1. So all i could do was sit on it. They also only had 2 Indian bikes so I guess that devision isnt doing too well.
Saleman told me that yamaha brings in so little new R7's and R1s that they cannot afford to have a demo model. Apparently the R7 is a downgrade to the R6 so ppl just arent buying it.
The type of person in the market for an R6, would not consider an R7.So I popped by yamaha linex (was called world of yamaha before) and again they didnt have a demo of the new R7 or even an R1. Yea, I think if you want and really like the R7, then what you should do is buy an RS660. It's a tough sell. The type of person in the market for an R6, would not consider an R7.
The type of person in the market for na R7, have a loads of options to consider from all manufacturers.
The R7 just does not have enough PAH for a super bike.
