How did the driver take it?Traffic was quite bad this morning. I did a few lane splits until the second last robot... I saw it was quite a tight squeeze but thought I should be able to make it through and boom clipped the mirror of the driver in his/her Renault. The person hooted, I felt bad and quickly pulled the clutch in the reserve up to apologize. Couldn't see any damage to the mirror but didn't make my morning.
How did the driver take it?
They're not normally happy wheb stuck in traffic, let alone when someone makes a mistake
I've clipped a mirror twice.I couldn't see the reaction of the driver but judging from the hooting, not a happy camper - I don't blame them, would have done the same in his/her shoes.
Wasn't my intention to hit the mirror on purpose but lesson learned, next time I'll rather stay behind the cars when I see it is a bit tight.
Just hope the person doesn't think all bikers are like that.
Need some advice here. Going to pick up another 1000 soon in the next coming months. I am pretty set on a ZX10R, as the 2014/2015 models are great value and reliable and all. The other bike I really love is the MV Agusta F4, and that's where the advice part comes in. They have some really affordable ones available, really enjoy the 2012 one.
Does anyone here know anyone who owns an F3 or F4? Will it be super pricey to maintain? Would it take forever to get parts etc? What are the drawbacks of just pulling the trigger on the F4 over getting the ZX10R basically?
Was on the phone with a few bike shops today and i'm set on the 10R. Thanks for the heads up on the MV!I would strongly advise avoiding MV. They are notorious maintenance whores and like their italian siblings not cheap!
Cost wise you cant go wrong with a jap bike

Stoked the 2014/2015 ZX10Rs have TC and all that jazz now, haven't had the chance to ride a 1000 with all the tech in all my time riding.
Also seems like the hubby is going toward the new RC390, I'm pretty happy with that decision. MT07 could be a viable option for him as well, have to respect the machine and no matter what the size.
Modern 1000s you can put your feet on pegs and pin the throttle. The electronics will do the rest. Only reason I'm able to ride a 1299 like a palookaWas on the phone with a few bike shops today and i'm set on the 10R. Thanks for the heads up on the MV!

I'm back once again almost done window shopping, probably going to pull the trigger on the new Rc390, it has some crazy features and specs.
Bad part is I'm going to struggle catching up with my fiancé @ghostbunny on her Zx10r...
Replying on the hubby's behalf here, but when you say brand new, do you mean 2021 models? Apparently we're only getting the 2022 RC's in (hopefully) mid year.No to put a damper on a 390 but these bikes seem to be riddled with Elec issues. ABS and TC failure and a very iffy quick shifter.
I only say this as we've got a few friends who bought the 390 adv and it was a common issue among them. After doing some reading it seems like a lot more people experienced this. I tested a 390 adv and I had a TC warning after about 60km; this on a brand new bike.
Maybe have a look at a R3 or Ninja 400
If the 2022 are only still coming then yes a 21 modelReplying on the hubby's behalf here, but when you say brand new, do you mean 2021 models? Apparently we're only getting the 2022 RC's in (hopefully) mid year.
R3 and Ninja 400 seem very lackluster in comparison all things considered, I'd almost rather him learn on a modern 600 in a low power mode so he can have the TC and stuff.
I can agree but if you watch all the videos on the TC and cornering ABS, it's some great tech to have as far as I understand. My problem is the Ninja's are just tech-free and cost the same.If the 2022 are only still coming then yes a 21 model
Lacklustre in what way? TFT and phone conect. The incl quickshifter isnt worth it, I used clutch the entire ride but I think you can actually turn it off. TC on a 390, why lol it doesn't need it.
The only think the 390 has that's better that either is the suspension, Fully adjustable.
The Ninja 400 is faster, lighter iirc and has better braking. The R3 is the baby of the lot but an excellent contender.
The Ninja is also a twin so a lot less Vibey for a longer ride.or at highway speeds.
