Bikers!?

Looks like an amazing trip. Definitely worth the watch.

Who's going with me next year? Ideally not on these bikes though.

Not yet, weekends seemed to fill up fast and furiously.
Think my only opening is like the 12th between now and December.

Anyone keen on something then?

I'm keen. There is a Toy run this weekend I'm attending if anyone is interested.

SO keen to take a trip like that. How much?

Have you ever taken a long trip on a bike like that? You end up stopping for a swim in a river instead of the shower at the hotel...
It adds so much; it becomes as much about the journey as the destination.

Never on a bike though I did have some fun in the US on a roadtrip.

Success on a trip like that probably depends largely on the company you keep, but man it looks like a ton of fun.

It sounds like it almost didn't start - Is it normal?
I get its two bigass pistons it has to swing, but it would worry me every time I try to start it.
She could do with a new battery but for now it's fine.
Never had an issue to start but yes does crank a bit to get it going.

Beautiful Paarl Nature Reserve. Sadly the roads got some heavy damage due to the rain, resulting in some very technical terrain. It was quite a daunting experience for me. Nonetheless a good day on the bike with some bruised egos.

Hey all

Looking for helmet recommendations. I am in the market to buy a new helmet as I am still riding around with the one I took a fall with months ago.

I'm keen on the OutRush Modular R that Harley sells for 5k with built in Sena bluetooth but they don't know when they will get stock. Also not sure if I feel safe in a modular helmet.

Also Been looking at these

I'm looking for something that is not to noisy inside, with not too much wind funneling up from the bottom hitting my eyes as my contact lenses dry out. If its got built in bluetooth even better. Right now I use a cheapie bluetooth set in the helmet. I also like the intergrated sun visor.

Hay dude

As a new rider I was looking for a modular as well, more for touring than anything else however after trying and trying I would definitely say that a modular would be more noisy than a face.

Also, getting something with built-in Bluetooth might not be thee best idea, if you looking for group comms.

Thanks, also figured it would be more noisy than full face.
Not to phased over group comms, I use it more for music and answering calls.

I saw this which is pretty cool for controlling your bluetooth set if its sena.

I have a Bell RS-2 and am happy with the fit albeit not the right shape for my head but none the less, they make great helmets.

I bought the CS-15 as my first helmet. I bought it a bit too small for me. I highly recommend you go to some shops to do some test fits, and then buy on Takealot if you're set on buying from there.
the CS-15 is comfy and the noise isolation was alright. I moved on to an RPHA11 from HJC after the CS-15. The difference in price is felt in the difference of fit, material, noise /wind isolation, etc. I don't regret the CS-15, it was a happy first buy. Pretty sure you should be able to find it closer to 2K in stores compared to Takealot. Go look at MotoMate, its in your valley @Byakugan .

Rather go to Motomate in The Buzz or Bikers Warehouse in Northgate and try some helmets on.
#1 priority with a helmet is the fit; some are more round, others more oval. Only way you'll know which helmets actually fit you properly is if you go and try them on and wear them for at least 10 minutes. Buying a helmet based on a spec sheet is a terrible idea.

Some sea for the soul.
Also got out on the bike to go for team lunch.

Definitely soothing the inner beast

Man it's just something else riding near the ocean , it was a first for me but I'm hooked to exploring all these beautiful roads.

I'm on a diet so no lunch stops for me but being in my leathers in this heat helps me drops some water weight [emoji28][emoji28][emoji28]

Yo guys , do I need to get new rubber or not?
I don't know if y'all can see the picture clearly but I can see the wire.

One dude said I should run the tyres till they slick , really need input here

Bike is only on 7400km , normally what's the target milage for new tyres?

The front still looks great , best to replace both or is it safe to use different tyre brands front and rear ?

I wouldn't ride a tire with the wire exposed like that unless its on the way to replace it and even then it would be only as a last resort, at very low speeds.

I don't mind riding with two different brands, but I wouldn't buy two different brands. If you're replacing both, get the same brand, if only replacing one, it wont make much difference as long as both are decent tyres.

Don't try pair a Pilot road series with a piece of plastic and you'll be fine. You should know how the front tyre handles by now, so you can decide if you like it or not.

If you're happy with the front tyre currently, I would say replace the back one now with your brand of choice, then replace the front when its due with the same brand as the rear.

My MT10 came with Bridgestone S20's, the front is still on the bike, but the rear has been swapped with a Pilot Road. The front should be good for another 15'000kms before it will also be replaced- At which point I'll replace both at the same time.

A brand to look at would be Metzler.
Have a couple mates who run them and I would too if they made them in my rear size, but also Diablo Rosso's are my only option in SA

Lol I was about to drive to the beach and then I saw the tyre , michelin radial pilot or pirelli angel gt?
The front still looks brand new so I'll replace the back unless theres a combo special [emoji28]
