Not even going to say sorry. The only thing with the R6 is it is so damn lazy down low. Have to turn its ear so that it squeals like a pig

Never owned a sports bike. The R6 was recommended as a starter due to the laziness down low. You have an alternative view/opinion? I'm all ears.

Would not consider any sportsbike 600cc or higher as a starter to anyone.
Even though it is lazy down low, it still rock offs. And they are not forgiving bikes at all if you make a mistake.

I guess it depends on your experience on bikes in general and what you consider a starter.

hahaha.
Yeah feel the same way, was a friend that bought one and wanted to poer poer along with us on breakfast runs

Many moons ago, there was an acquaintance who owned a Harley. A relatively big capacity one.
He, for some unfounded reason, thought this Harley of his was the fastest thing out there. Nothing could beat it in his eyes. He always had reasons like "The grip is amazing because the bike is heavy, so the power can be put to the tarmac"
He avoided riding with me/us, Then one day I met a cool Harley rider(I know right, who would've thought?) who invited me to a ride. I went, On my SV650 at the time and guess who was there? hehe. Didn't take much to pull away from him. He was quite pissed off with me. :p

Go big or go home.
Panda should get a H2,HP4,R1M or Panigale. Extremely easy bikes to ride if your goal is to get an early grave stone.
I have seen one too many youngsters who get given or buy a 600cc/1000c Superbike when they are 20 or even younger. They are now either scared shitless of bikes or no longer among the living.
There are one or two exceptions though, 19 year old kid was given a ZX14. I was soo upset about it, I was jealous of course. He is 24 or 25 now, He still has it and rides it every day.

My R1 before the accident

I've raced enduro for many years. I can wheelie and drift along and play around with a ktm 690 and 1190. I can stoppie and do the same with a gs 1200...

I've messed around on a friends BMW HP4, was very cautious though cause tarmac is new for me. But was speeding along in no time. Early grave incomming?

So I'm not sure how well the offroad and dirt skills transfer to tarmac, I would assume not very well. Infinitely more things to keep track of I realise, and everything is out to kill you on tarmac. I won't call myself ignorant or naive, I realise that dirt != tar.

What would you have me start with, in your opinion mr Flex and @D3TTOL ? Just scared I'm bored and moeg of something smaller and slower after 1 month of ownership.
Maybe I should go for something more torque'y, and less speedy.

My dad was out of the country lots when I was in school. I used to ride his ZX12 to school and B Runs lots when I was in Grade 7 or 8 if I am not mistaken

Nah man, go for it then.

Takes some getting used to, as they are two totally different styles. Just one with much larger consequences. Just never get too comfortable with the power and speed. Other than that you should be good!

Mr flex is actually a Mrs according to the pic that was posted earlier. :p
Any superbike is geared to do crazy speeds, Are you specifically looking at a superbikes?
there are some great naked/non-Superbike options, Like the MT09.. which is probably a good pick imo.

Haha, I was riding my mother's DL1000Vstrom when I was in Grade 7 :)
My feet could barely touch the ground. though nothing compared to a ZX12.... Surely you must have made some enemies? Some kids must have gotten jealous, I know I would have hated you xD

Nah, luckily not. I was the only real biker in Waterkloof and everyone knew me that way.
Got my zx636R when I was 15 which I also raced on the track. I was also not one of those cocky guys reving the hell out of their bikes. Had nothing to prove to anyone :p

This was me :ROFLMAO:
Bought my 07 R1 when I was 18. Heavy learning curve and I treated it with a ton of respect. If my ego was just a tad to high, she'd bite back and Id calm down pretty quick lol. 55000 km and 1 accident later, still loved her :)

And 6 years of riding a superbike just about every day, I daily commute on an RR, which, dare I say it, feels so much safer to ride than any other bike I have ridden... in terms of super bikes.

Sharing crashed bike pics?

This was my 636, traveling at 0km/h.
Guy cut a corner at a T junction with a bakkie, an hit me head on while standing still.
Was so hard the frame ripped open.

You must feel the Hatred i have for you right now. Still on my bucket list to go and do Baviaans.

I am more excited with the 2019 S1000RR coming.

New BMW S1000RR. Is this 2019’s top superbike?

O and the New Suzuki Katana. Have a Feeling it is going to be a 900 compeditor like the xsr 900 and Z900RS from Kawasaki.

Errm, no unique unsymmetrical headlights??
Not liking the new shape, looks a superbike version of the mt10.
Meh lol

Think I'll stick with my '16 for a while, will have to see what the new gen brings.

The S1000RR looks like a Blade had sex with a Triumph

And what's wrong with that?

Looks more like a Panigale clone to me. Glad they got rid of the googly eye stroke face completely.
