Seller:
@Theos
Buyer: @Scarlet Scarab
Description of Bad Deal: So I bought a gaming wheel from @Theos and all was good ([Sale] - Logitech G923 Racing wheel (Xbox/PC) + Pedals | Peripherals). He briefly showed me his VR kit and told me he wanted to sell it, I was interested in the accessories and later my friend wanted a VR headset which led me to buy it from @Theos. I saw it before in person but didn't see it on till I got home after he was paid, this was last Sunday. I have one of my own which is why my friend wanted one as well. (Just to clarify I was working middle man, my friend has no idea who I was working with or about the complications because I took full responsibility for the deal. He pays money into an account and then receives headset he was promised, so I ended up having to give him my headset that I got here: [Sale] - Oculus Quest 2 - Advanced All-In-One Virtual Reality Headset - 128 GB | Other).

Sunday, when I fetched it, @Theos showed me all the bits and bobs, put the headset on himself, and told me that all was working perfectly. We both disassembled all the extra stuff, I the controllers (they had grips with slings on) and he took the aftermarket head strap and battery bank of the quest 2. When I got home I put on the original head strap and when I tested it I noticed some fuckery on the right lens, like a white mark on the top left, bottom left, and far right. It was only visible in dark areas or if you turned the headset on and saw the Oculus logo with the dark background. I was a bit confused at first and put it down to double-check it later (was really out of it and it was late). Monday morning I look at it again just to see if it wasn't just dirt or muck or my eyes doing weird shit. Cleaned it with a microfiber cloth and was still there so I contacted @Theos, you can see how it went in the WhatsApp messages (sensitive info is blurred) In the google drive link here: <redacted>. Currently, he has the Headset. He has for now agreed to pay me back minus the 1k I offered him for sympathy, after I retract the offer. Right now I'm waiting for the money to reflect but I am not too sure what to make of this. Have a putrid taste in my mouth over this and I didn't sleep a wink last night it stressed me out so much. Right now it looks to be sorted but I am not happy about it atm. In many words, he blames me for the damage to the headset.

UPDATE: Today I got paid 8k of the 9k that was paid for the headset. I'll leave it at that, though I am considering giving a bad review. Was shit I didn't need to stress over but the case is closed now.

Just to chime in here, I haven't reviewed the screenshots from Scarlet.

Headset was very clearly fine when it left me - and then later came back with a defect.
I'd thought perhaps it was something I didn't notice when I tested it, but it is plainly obvious on the bootup screen (fine in other normal usage).
I attempted to find a compromise of a solution where we sold it at a reduced price.

Eventually the buyer threatened me with police involvement and freezing my bank account when I was clearly trying to find a middle ground that derisked us both.
I paid back his money because I couldn't be bothered to deal with the bullshit of fighting about this all for such a small amount of money, in the hopes that the headset would sell at a lower price range with the inclusion of the stuck pixels.

So yeah it basically ends up being a case where I don't even know if this guy just swapped out the headset with one with this defect. Will definitely enforce that anyone who buys from me again tests and confirms that they're happy with stuff from me before it leaves my hands.

@Scarlet Scarab please remove my personal name from these posts, google drive link, screenshots and filenames as well as it a form of doxxing.
Im not going to get involved here beyond this reply as I've already had enough of this whole shebang - I just wanted others to hear the side of the story from my side.

@Scarlet Scarab So you bought something without testing it yourself, then get to your house and it doesn't live up to your standards. You ask the seller to take it back which he does without even moaning about it (he has every right to test it himself to make sure the issue is in fact present before refunding you). Then you lose your shit with him because he doesn't want to pay over the money immediately. Essentially threatening him when he clearly wasn't at fault. You said in your own messages that no one is at fault. You can be glad @Theos is the person he is because most will have said get lost.

@Theos kudos for rectifying this.

Closing this.
