I use to buy so much from Amazon and it was always so much cheaper to buy from them than locally. Like buying a Meta Quest was far cheaper from Amazon than locally.

Now you can get a Meta Quest 3 from takealot for 13k, but from Amazon it's almost 22K. Has SA customs done something to curb importing.

I think it's just a miscalculation
The 512gb has ~20% fees
The 128gb has ~120% fees
It could be a site-wide problem but it definitely seems to be an error

I bought the quest 3 on amazon UK just because of that problem. It's now just under R11500 with shipping and taxes.

Although the quest 2 is cheaper to buy on amazon US than UK. So yeah weird stuff

Yeah some products are absolutely ridiculous when it comes to the import fees calculations. Sometimes the fees for similar products, but different brands, will differ exponentially. Not entirely sure how it’s calculated but hey what can you do.

There are a few services you can try that should he able to import it for you at a lower cost than Amazon, I’m pretty sure. I’ve used Scott’s Shipping services before and they’re great. Should be a bunch of others as well.

Can you send me a link?

How long does shipping take?

Thanks, I see they're now under R13 000 locally, so probably worth the extra thousand or so in case there's something wrong.

Did you have the Quest 2? Worth upgrading?
Yeah I had the quest 2 and the upgrade was definitely worth it for me. It also depends on your use case. I use my quest 3 like almost everyday, playing some fitness activity games and watching series/movies. The pancake lenses makes the viewing experience so much worth it.
I refuse to buy a large UHD TV just because of my quest 3 lol but if you got a SO it's probably better not to watch alone :ROFLMAO:

Thanks, will only be using it for PCVR. Some people say it's worth the upgrade, others say stick with the Q2. Still undecided...
