From what I understand the stem is the sameWill normal keycaps work on these switches?
Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening
Hope your having a great day.
So, I recently bought the Redragon Draconic 60% with Outemu browns switches. Really is a solid keyboard and have been enjoying every second of it. Done some light modding like added sound dampening foam on the inside, added some spacers between everything that could vibrate when typing, clipped the stabilizers, snuggly fitted the stabilizers so they don't shake, sprayed the backplate white so the RGBs reflect better (would recommend to anyone) and switched out a few switches with the switches that where included in the box (Just to get a feel of the other switches).
However, there is no fairy tale without a wicked witch and as I recently discovered it that the "Hot Swappable" switches are exclusive to Outemu switches and that the Gateron Reds I wanted to switch them out for won't fit because apparently the Draconic has "thinner or shallower" pin sockets. After some research I have discovered that you can file down the switch pins to make them fit, however I have never done something like this and don't really want to spend the money on the switches if it might not work.
So I was wondering has anyone got any advice for me on what I can do to make the switches fit and has anyone filed down their switch pins before???? Also, I have also been looking for Outemu Red switches as I thought it might just be easier to replace them with Outemu reds, but I can't seem to find anywhere that sells Outemu red switches (Except a few amazon links, but they are more expensive the gaterons).
So basically, if you know of a place that sells Outemu Red switches please let me know. Also is it safe to file down pin switches?
Thanks for your time hope the rest of your day is even better.
Mind if I PM you some questions? Just ordered the keyboard and it's my first mechanical one
Looking to do the spray paint mod and lube the springs up
Yes boss. Unless you have some artisans that have a thick stem coming out the bottom. But normal keycaps should fit just fine. Will normal keycaps work on these switches?
When you come to a conclusion, be sure to share the knowledge and methods followed here as well please...Mind if I PM you some questions? Just ordered the keyboard and it's my first mechanical one

That looks the part for sure! Guess I'm spraying my plate white as well. Your RGB looks so much better than on my board. I have a full white keycap set coming in as well.
I already bought the keyboard. I am actually looking at getting a white key cap set and was wondering if they would be compatible with the switches. Btw I'm in Garsfontein.Yes boss. Unless you have some artisans that have a thick stem coming out the bottom. But normal keycaps should fit just fine.
Where in Pretoria East are you? I can borrow my only Outemu red I own for you to test.
Must say, was pretty tempted to buy a white keycap set for it, but wasn't sure which route to go. Because the only PBT shine through I could find in SA was Razers and they are quite expensive xD and where do you get your keycap sets? kbdfans.com is your friend. Shipping usually takes around 2 weeks.Must say, was pretty tempted to buy a white keycap set for it, but wasn't sure which route to go. We will see how mine looks with the RGB. Still pricey at around $30 for a 60% board though.
As soon as I get the keycaps I will be able to tell you. Currently in freight.xD I've been on the website for 10 min and already know I should never return to it for my accounts safety
Btw for typing purposes, how much better does the PBT keycaps feel than the stock ABS on the Draconic?
Very nice! Definitely next on my list. Finally managed to get a coiled cable from beyond customs

Unfortunately there are very few low profile keycaps available...Any one here with a Logitech G915 that was able to change the key caps to something different?
I have found the tactile version to be around a tiny bit softer than the MX blues. I could have sworn that Logitech made a brown alternative because that's what I used in my old G413 a while back. But those were way WAY worse than browns.Does anyone know if the Logitech G Pro keyboard is as loud as a standard blue switch? I had a blue switch and my gf banned it. I am keen on a G Pro now and am struggling to tell from youtube how loud it is. Damn shame they don't make it browns.
Unfortunately, nothing is available locally. You will have to do DIY if you want to make it happen without importing. But the lubing 'stations' are really over rated. You only need a bowl for each component, strip all the switches and put their components into the appropriate bowl. Reassemble the switches as you lube them. The lube stations look good on camera, but adds little to nothing in your workflow.Does anybody know where we can get lubing kits locally? The one with the opener and the keyboard perspex sheets to hold all the parts. I know KBDFans had a bunch of different ones, but surely some local place has one...
Otherwise its off to aliexpress/taobao again
Thought as much, was mostly interested in a place where I can keep switches in (instead of just a bag but what does it really matter) will stick to the bowls and then the springs in a bag as usual. Just so tired and sore from opening switches with a tiny screwdriver and such, especially when sometimes the spring decides to go on an adventure.Unfortunately, nothing is available locally. I'll 3D print you 2 or 3 switch openers? You will just have to cover shipping.Thought as much, was mostly interested in a place where I can keep switches in (instead of just a bag but what does it really matter) will stick to the bowls and then the springs in a bag as usual. Joke of the Day: You can make a nice 2x4 acrylic fidget toy with switches. As long as you don't use Jades that is...
Can't wait for the results! Our champions are in! Who do you think will be the winner?
I am going to lube 2 Gateron Reds with each lube and compare them daily over a span of a month. Let's see what I find. Wish I had the finances and time to do an entire board with each. I have high hopes for the oil on the far left.
Would love that, will drop you a dm soon.I'll 3D print you 2 or 3 switch openers? You will just have to cover shipping.
