Hellos everyone,

Looking for suggestions/recommendations on for a wireless full-sized keyboard (i.e. not a TKL keyboard) but seems like most if not all decent ones are TKL, there don't even appear to be any Logitech models (for example) that are full sized.
Dunno how people survive without the numpad, maybe you get used to it but I somehow can't conceive of typing numbers without it.

Never had a mechanical keyboard so open to trying one out but ideally it would be relative quiet, can't sit and clack clack clack away unfortunately.

All mechanical keyboards will be louder than the membrane/scissor KBs you're used to, however some will be less noisy than others.

You want to try get linear (usually "red") or tactile (usually "brown") switches, rather than clicky (usually "blue") switches.

The good ones aren't that noisy. Look at Keychron, they have a few full size ones.

But unfortunately you won't know how loud they are until you try them out. Takealot isn't a bad option since they let you return if you're not fully happy.

Logitec MX Keys? Keyboard

I have used this keyboard before and its really awesome.

Hmm, will see if I can find one to have a look at it, initially I was kinda put off cause my previous experience with "slim" keyboards is that they're not quite ideal/comfortable for me and are somewhat unergonomic/dinky. For example I hate most laptop keyboards.

I think I missed this initially because when I checked Logitech I was looking at their gaming keyboards (not that I necessarily want a "gaming" keyboard, guess it was just habit cause that's the portion of their site I look at.

R3k is quite a bit though... but I guess yeah... you get what you pay for I guess when going for cheapos (and definitely don't want the random cheapos).

you will want linear switches, it will be picky packy instead of clicky clacky.

If you manage to find Cherry Black switches, get them.

Yeah, I'm not opposed to them being clicky, I juest meant the ones that are well, very very clicky. So yeah I would lean towards red/brown switches.

You can always go the mechanical keyboard route. Silent switches are a thing too. I am quite a bit of a mechanical keyboard enthusiast so you can check this out CSE, invest in some silent switches and grab some keycaps and perhaps that covers you needs.

Thanks for the suggestion, don't think it is wireless though?

Keychron Q series is wired. K series is wireless, K4 has the numpad but not the nav cluster:

I've got a Logitech G613. It's EOL, so doubt you'll find one these days

+1 on this. Can also be used to defend yourself against the dark arts. I don't want to get hit in the face with it.

Otherwise, the smaller, more compact, full keyboard, the K780. Weird layout though, but it didn't take much to get the hang of.

Lol, I am now like completely befuddled. I thought I knew what I wanted but likewise I've always liked the idea of analogue keyboards, but then that said what games would I play with KB/Mouse that would benefit me using an analogue keyboard vs just a gamepad.... cause now I am eyeing the wooting 2 HE or the razer huntsman analogue.

Any experience with analogue KBs?

I'm no expert but my impression about these is that they are important for people who play competitive games at a very high level, where milliseconds between keypresses could make a real impact on winning or losing.

For anyone below that level, it's not that important.

Definitely not for competitive use at all. That's Rapid Trigger. Analogue is more of a feature that allows controller like input on a keyboard. Basically you "could" modulate throttle input with an analogue keyboard for example. Acts as a keyboard and controller at the same time if you will.

Ah then I have got my wires crossed.

Do any games actually support this sort of input?

As far as I know, pretty much all games that support a controller, since you map the individual keys to an Xbox 360 controller input and Windows will treat it as such. So 'W' for example will register as RT or whatever you want. It's quite neat actually function wise, but all round a pointless feature for 99% of people.

So random update but I had the opportunity to try out a few keyboards, and it did indeed confirm my suspicion that my preference would indeed be for linear switches. Got to use a Keychron and also tested a Logitech G915 from a colleague, both great, but different of course since the Logitech is low profile which I kinda liked but was of course expensive and was tactile not linear switches (and I couldn't find linear locally and it is a rather pricey keyboard).

Randomly I found Redragon has a full mechanical keyboard, wireless, and swappable switches and keycaps (which isn't easy to do on the logitech since they're bespoke, the Redragon has cherry type caps, this is still all new to me but the switches are linear).

Now Redragon is not a brand I would typically buy, my primary thought is cheap stuff, probably poorly made, blah blah you get what you pay for. Although I know this isn't always the case and of course "gaming" anything is typically overpriced. Anyway the local Redragon store/site advertised "We're absolutely confident that you'll love this product. If you don't, just return it for a FULL refund! No questions asked!".

Dunno if that's worth anything and whether they uphold the policy but decided to take a chance and return the keyboard if it is dreadful. Ordered the Redragon Horus Wireless with red switches.

Anyway, unfortunately I won't be getting to test out their policy anytime soon because I absolutely love this keyboard, although my experience was brief it is definitely on par with the logitech. I don't notice or feel any sort of latency at all, and I compared wired and 2.4G modes. Maybe some twitch super CS pro might tell but to me at lease it's no problem at all.

Only thing I don't like about it (well 2 things), the sill Redragon logo on the top of the keyboard but I figured I can easily cover that up or do something. The other thing is that I am not a fan of the sub-print on the number keys that you use to switch modes, (BT, 2.4, USB) but that's easy to rub off I guess since it is printed and the main numbers are see through legends (double shot is the term I believe).

So yes, all in all, it's not bad at all for a pretty decent price relative to other keyboards. Has an aluminium top frame which looks and feels pretty nice. And with the savings in cash I can actually get some alternative keycaps for fun/looks.

Anyway, that's my 2c, never thought I would ever buy a Redragon product, and time will tell in terms of durability, but having had logitech mice where things rub off, buttons stop clicking right, rubber comes loose, makes me wonder what I was paying for when it comes to those products anyway.
