Warzone 2.0

I had an awesome game the other night. sitting up on a perch my teammates ran ahead trying to do contracts, the AI dropped in one teammate down from one of the AI, pulling out a spotter scope. mark the enemies AI, the between all of this chaos hear an unfamiliar voice., team's mates call out "player player" ... then you just hear the voice say "don't mind us we just want to finish contracts; another team also rocks up pull out my newly unlocked SPR-208 and start popping off one by one from the other team then Jokingly I say join our team or die lol then 2 players joined up then again another team also same thing FFS everyone is "yelling who is shooting", "Stop shooting" my teammates standing their ground with me on overwatch epic moment like six guys down every one lol between all this chaos I say calmly join or die lol then the gas started to move in, I called out to the other teams "if anybody shoots you die" lol Keyboard ninja style. to cut a long story short we ended up with sixteen players in the exfil chopper...

then while we are in the chopper this one Genius decides to double cross us and start to use his RPG inside the chopper while we are exfil-ling, and they jack then the weapons case which we jacked from them lol

NOICE.

We managed to get 5 people into 1 squad.

We split up lobbies 2/2 and then started matchmaking at the same time, we all loaded into the same game. The other team forgot to disable squad fill so they got a random in.

Then in game we all met up, executed the random and invited the others into our squad.

That was an epic game!

annoying, had a crash 3 days in a row now. just freezes then closes.

game_ship.exe

Ive just watched this lovely gentleman and done everything suggested, except closing my Rivatuner overlay. If I atill get a crash I will close the overlay and try again.

I'm using the latest drivers and the Blizzard launcher. Disabled all overlays (Geforce Experience, FPS monitoring in MSI Afterburner).

Only 1 crash so far

Strange is, I got to rank 30 something with not a single crash. Then I jinxed it and now it crashes often

Having not played any games (let alone FPS) since February its been a bit of a grind getting back into gaming. And my first game since getting back into it was Warzone 2. Maybe being rusty and getting on in age it hasn't been easy. Havent picked up a win yet and I am finding the BR a little more challenging than what I found it in the first Warzone where I had multiple BR wins.

Best place so far is 6th while going solo in Br Duos. However to be fair (to myself :)) I have been focusing on levelling guns up and not really on the win. I will do missions for as much cash as I can in short space of time then level guns up at buy station and start again. As opposed to buying gear like UAV's, Self Revives, havent been going for loadout to get perks like Ghost etc.

All in all I am enjoying it and tempted to get the base game for the full on MP side if it, but still feel R1200 is a bit steep for a MP game.

I am really hoping we see the return of Plunder cause then I wont want the MP game at all.

can't you play DMZ to level stuff? also can solo

the more I watch Twitch streams of it, I feel like I want to try it, but I am really not a co-op player in the sense of having a nice chat while playing, but the DMZ looks do-able and it seems to be AI

As much as i am enjoying the multiplayer just be aware it is full of sweats, it might be the best way to get your skill level up but it will also leave you frustrated. I am enjoying the BR and DMZ to unwind and also level my guns quickly cuz lord knows trying to level non meta guns in MP will kill your soul.

Anyway, I feel even tho the price is insane for the full game I don't regret buying it.

DMZ is nice for leveling weapons, as long as you raid strongholds and do contracts you will get nice XP, also don't be afraid to give it a go.
We have lots of locals playing it and not to be mean but most of them are not so great at the game, I feel DMZ is the more casual mode of all the current game modes in my opinion. I also don't voice chat with randoms and so far no one i have matched with have used voice chat either if that is keeping you away from DMZ, the ping system works well enough for communication.

You can, but then If I die I lose the gun I was wanting to level up so have to A, find one again in DMZ in a new game, or B, ask a mate to spawn in with one which I then pick up. Where as in BR I just laucnh into a new game with any weapons I wish from a buy station.
In BR I can go to a buy station at anytime and buy the gun I wish to level up.

Well that is what will bring the skill level back up the fastest.

ooooof....

didn't see that you actually lose that gun

so then you would need to level it again?

No the weapon rank remains, but if you lose it in game you cannot play with it for 2 hours. Well that's if you had it in an insured slot. If you did not have it in such a slot then only way is to find another one in the game.

DMZ is starting to feel annoying and perhaps needing some changes?

Entered with 1 squad mate last night. We did a few missions and had a ton of cash. Couple of Operator kills on the way. Heading in direction of Exfil when mate goes down. Could tell immediately it was an Operator. I took cover in closest shack just to get absolutely butt fu%&*d and bent over a barrel! Was like I had run onto Omaha Beach.

Killcam showed that I had been killed by a player with about 8 or more players in their team? His team members were so many it looked like flowers on the hillside from their icons. So they had obviously teamed up.

Whats the point then of 3 man squads?

I get the idea that "spontaneous" teamups are encouraged - like, you find a friendly rando out on the map, and agree to not kill each other and work together and maybe exfil together. That could be a fun game mechanic in theory. And then I guess that could snowball into larger groups.

But I suspect there's also players who queue together with a bunch of people who are already in Discord to try to get into the same game and then pubstomp randos. That has been a thing since PUBG days and even earlier. It's a trashy strategy but difficult to combat.

There's literally a mechanic in the game where you can invite other players into your squad and doing so is even one of the tier 3 missions iirc, which is where most people are by now.

I'm not saying they didn't queue together to specifically do it like assholes.

Very easy to combat, Tarkov being a good example.

Remove HUD icons for team mates, and enable team damage. One 'could' queue into a Tarkov raid with multiple friends (locally) but to pull that raid off and not kill team mates is borderline impossible. The amount of comms and co-ordination needed for multiple people to state where they are and what they plan to do in comms will give anyone who doesn't have cluttered comms the advantage. Certain DayZ servers pivot off this same mechanic - strength in numbers means nothing.

They weren't Randoms, it was planned. There was no proximity chat so they were all on discord etc. Anyways, if you cant beat em, join em, Ill be bringing a team of 20 next time! Bitches.

Round 2: Stang + 19 newbs.......

= Same outcome :ROFLMAO:

These guys aren't team mates, they are queuing together using Discord. So there already aren't HUD icons and damage is already enabled, since the game treats them as enemies of each other, not team mates.

And they seem to be coordinating just fine despite the difficulty, as @StangV2_0 describes. It helps that COD DMZ is much less hardcore than Tarkov. So strength in numbers does help.

Combating the phenomenon of people queuing together using Discord, is difficult. Since they could be scattered all over the country, a simple IP check wouldn't work. You'd have to implement something like a check to see if a player has clicked "join queue" at the exact same time as another player/s repeatedly, and then force those players to queue into different lobbies.

Oops, I see - Played 110 hours of multiplayer and Warzone, and about 30 minutes of DMZ. Excuse my ignorance.

I suppose our only real problem, similar with Tarkov is that we have such a small community that its easy to queue into the same lobbies. Which I'd imagine NA/EU don't struggle with, and would be a non-issue for the devs.

Yeah true. The small local community has been an issue for years with so many games. At least with Tarky and Warzone we have local servers.

Do ZA Tarky players still often queue into EU just to get fuller lobbies?

I heard with the recent Tarkov update, they've region locked people. Although I'm not sure what this changes for us as we techinically own EU Tarkov accounts and the 190ms (IIRC) limit still exists. Its been a few months since I played, the dead raids made the game ultra boring, even though I think its a brilliant game.

@thePridge is probably the best to ask about this though.

They've just implemented a region lock, but they're rolling back/changing it this morning.

The ping limit makes EU games tricky as disconnects are frequent.

EU version game can play "everywhere" basically.

Until recently I would start out my stream playing ZA and if the population didn't pick up after a couple of raids I would play on London server. Beginning of wipe and during the more entertaining events our server (we only have a JHB server) is full... like 12 people on customs full not the "I found 2 other PMCs so the raid was busy" "full".

I do also run "lobby filling services" (inside joke because I stream and then get everyone to queue together so we get full lobbies on ZA server).

I did some experimenting around the new changes yesterday and this morning.
- You no longer select an individual server but a "region" like EU North.
- The game seems to be filling the first server in the Queue (like London in EU North) before moving to the next one (like Stockholm in EU north).
- The person who started the lobby (host) doesn't seem to affect this.
- You can end up on an EU server that is playable one raid and the next you end up on one where your ping is 200+ (even with exit lag). When you DO get a playable server you end up with even FULL labs lobbies on EU.

So to sum up
You could easily play EU using exitlag before, but now not so much.

However if people can't play EU because of how it randomly picks a server behind the "region" checkbox then we might actually see more people on ZA server.

So this is good and bad...

The changes were to sort out OCE / Asia issues. The server selection is still "region selection" as of right now.

The ping limit "manageable" when you could pick a server where your ping was below 190. but now you pick a region showing your ping at 190 or below but that region can contain servers with ping 200+ and you won't know until you're loading into raid.
