Facebook does not allow multiple accounts, they can terminate both accounts leaving you with a brick. I wouldn't risk that.
My work is secure, there are several layers of security including a VM and remoting to another machine. I am not concerned about the telemetry my home PC sends. But as soon as my screen display is going through oculus software to my oculus display it is suddenly accessible and recordable by someone else. Let's say for example all PC monitors could now connect to facebook and facebook could see and record everything on your monitor (I'm not saying they can or will, but they haven't exactly specified either which is my point, their TOS is too vague). Oh, and add a webcam that records you every time you use that monitor and records everything you say while using that monitor...
So maybe I want to have multiple bloomberg terminals all around me, or maybe I just want to watch Tropical Heat in surround without anyone judging me okay/
Maybe I am, although perhaps you are too... my comment is simple. "Facbook should be more specific in what they can and cannot access." Not saying they shouldn't track or be able to track... just want to know what they track.
So yeah, I overcomplicated it, I guess I was just saying their TOS is too vague but now I'm too emotionally invested in this debate to back down despite the fact I will probably buy a Quest 2 anyway assuming that the link cable works well and there isn't a huge performance overhead (would rather get good framerate at high settings than).
The vagueness in their policy is worrying, even more worrying is that by using the Quest 2 you are agreeing to their Supplemental Data Policy - which will only be made public on October 11 - so every single pre-order of Q2 is entering into an agreement they can't even see yet.
There's good reason Germany shut the sale of Quest 1 and Rift S down - I still want to see if Q2 will be allowed to sell there.
