Good day,

I wanted to buy a graphics card from one of the VIP Supporters/Resellers on Carbonite. I asked the seller if they would be able to provide me with a proof of purchase/invoice when I make the purchase. They responded that on used items, they do not provide invoices or proof of purchase.

So, what is Carbonite's stance on this matter? It seems very questionable to me. If the item turns out to be stolen, I would have no way to protect myself against legal action.

@Laptop Online not sure what you mean with Carbonite's stance? I guess it's simple - buy elsewhere if it bugs you. A lot of guys on here buy second-hand goods and sell it at a profit on Carbonite, which is what they need a Reseller subscription for. There's no proof that what they're selling is stolen, just like there's no proof that what they're selling is not stolen. If you don't like a seller's stance, just move on and buy from someone else.

Carbonite has no official stance on it, but we will enforce one rule - no illegal doohickeys. If a doohickey is illegal to sell, then it's a don'thickey.

So just like we practice "innocent until proven guilty", we practice "it's aight until proven stolen". Because selling stolen stuff is illegal. And if a guy is caught selling stolen goods, we'd expect him to make it right. If he doesn't, his time on Carbonite would be cut short.

What was the members rating? Would than not suffice?

Hmmm you asked me for a invoice, i told you the cards where personal sales and not trough my business so i said no i cannot give you a invoice. You then asked me to fill in some dodgy sales agreement that required my personal details like my ID number which i am not willing to provide to anyone.

I said to you i will not provide you with those details. I told you that i will give you 24 hours warranty to test the cards from when you receive it and i will gladly refund you if you have any issues with the cards once i have received the cards and they are still in the exact same psychical condition than what i sent them in. You never once asked me for the original sales invoices for the cards, which i could gladly provided for the one card, and pretty sure i would be able to get for the other card. Which should be enough providence that the cards are legit.
