Hi all,

Would ideally love to get Fibre but by current spot doesn't grant me that privilege.

Been using Rain, and it's horrendous, extremely slow and losses network. I'm looking at other options and axxess seems to be a common name..

Would really appreciate feedback from someone who's used both.. is it a better option or just two cheeks of the same behind?

Just for the sake of it, my primary use for wifi is work and streaming.

Thanks

Axxess has been my fiber provider since 2017. They’ve always been great with support tickets when needed. Their systems have never let me down it’s always been on my side in the handful of times I’ve needed support.

With that said the fixed LTE and 5G services they offer are dependent on the MTN or Telkom networks. I currently use them at a store I’m the network admin for with the MTN fixed LTE service. Switched from rain which was pretty bad in my experience. MTN has been solid for the most part. At the best of times I get around 80 mbit down and 20 up. It can fall to 20 down and 10 up. There have been more outages than on Fiber for sure. But all of this isn’t up to axxess but rather the MTN backbone infrastructure.

I'd consider trialing MTN, It's had less downtime than my fiber and speeds are very consistent. Gaming ping is stable, but higher than fiber by about 10-25ms.

I been exactly where you have been best thing is see witch network is the best in your area get friends and family with different network to do a speed test so far i know MTN has the best network coverage i went thru Web Africa in the beginning excellent customer service but they capped me on 1TB and drop the speed to 1MB so i went straight to MTN for the same package i paid for they capped me on 1.5TB and drop the speed to 15MB but customer service SUCKS big time

I appreciate this. Thanks for the help. Will consider it.

Thank you for the insight. At this point I'm ready to try something other than Rain. Had to go nearly two weeks with speeds of about 4mbs.. Basically paying full month's bill for two weeks services.

For what it's worth I use Vodacom 5g, got a data sim on a Black Friday promotion

cons: its a 36 months contract. You need your own device. It has a cap. You need to be able to qualify for it
pros: its the cheapest price I found if the cap is enough for you and you can get fast speeds (I pretty much always get over 200mbps). You can use it in any device that takes a sim or convert it to an eSim. It will add to your credit score. At this price (R320 pm atm) the 36 months might be a pro.

FYI: my cap is 400gb anytime, 400gb night surfer, and you can tap into the next month's 400gb anytime.

This sounds decent. Just curious on the qualification part. Do you have any link for it? Thanks.
