Hi all

I have been in need of a laptop just to perform tasks like web browsing, email, making word documents etc... and my brother gave me his old laptop.
It is an Acer TravelMate 4220. As far as I know it takes DDR2 SDRAM 533Mhz(Can take 667 aswell) and has 2 slots. I would like to upgrade the existing 2x512mb dims to 2x1Gb(Max is 2gb)

Model Number: TravelMate 4222WLMi

I am not looking at spending much at all. If I had the budget I would have bought a new laptop.
If anyone has any other suggestions for upgrades please let me know if you have parts that are compatible. I will upload some more info and pictures tomorrow...

Item Wanted: Laptop RAM DDR2 SDRAM (2x1Gb)
Item Wanted: Any compatible upgrades(Battery, expansion cards etc)

Packaging Essential: not really
Desired Age: Doesnt matter
Location: Hatfield PTA
Willing to accept a shipped item: Depends on price

I will upload some pics tomorrow so you can see what im working with for anyone has any suggestions...

Ok so the wireless adapter drivers are not compatible with windows 8, even in compatibility mode...How much is a wireless card or should I go dongle route?
Any suggestions?

Hey dude, i have a "Kingston 2GB DDR2 667 MHz Laptop Memory KTH-ZD8000B/2G" for R250, are you looking for an external wireless card cause i do have one of those internal laptop wireless cards aswell.

SouthernStar Where are you based? I would rather have 2x1Gb dims. I think I would also want the external wireless card as the internal ones seem to lack driver support on wind 8.1. Is it usb?

East of Jhb, like i said i only have a 2gb & 1gb RAM stick, also only the internal wireless card, Regards.

Got a wireless card sorted. Don't think I am going to go with that 2gb dim at that price. not even sure if it will work.
