iMac upgrade from 10.5.8 to 10.6

Hi peeps, I am battling, want to upgrade a 2009 iMac from 10.5.8 to 10.6, the thing is, I cannot get onto iTunes from the iMac in question to purchase the OS X 10.6, is there any other way to upgrade this?
