@SILTECH786

Hi, what is your steam nick, I'll add you, I am not the greatest anymore (I hover around LEM), but have about 18 years of cs experience. Can give you a lot of good tips, especially regarding setups, approach to aim, spray patterns (and randomizations), auto configs (interp, rates etc.). My gf plays a pretty mean game as well (the same rank). You should come join us on ts a bit, we can push through a couple of casual rounds.

I just went back to cs after a two month hiatus. I am quite appreciative of the panorama update, actually makes 1440p feel native to the game. On the source 1 engine, nothing but 4:3 felt native.

Your GF does not maybe want to play for a female team?

I like you already @Recho lemme guess 18 years cs exp and you didnt choose to be an esport pro player as a career !- riyaadm786 steam nick

It depends how much your team practice. She is studying atm and does not want something too intensive. She has been approached by members of both the White Rabbit reserve female CS GO and Overwatch teams to play for them, but the practices were too much. She doesn't want something that is going to eat into her study time. But if you give me some details I can put you in contact with her.

lol, no, a career in accounting seemed more important at the time. But yeah history was made when my friend rocked up with a version of the original counter strike beta and said I have to check this out. Still remember that first run down from CT side on de_nuke to the warehouse. Was the first map I ever saw. Yeah used to jam with a ball mouse back then.

I grew up with heroes like Heaton. His plays still inspired a lot of the movement styles still mimicked today. The original SK_Sweden clan, completely unbeatable. If you want to watch a fun cs video, look up HARD CLAN - CS video on youtube. Serious blast from the past.

Modest man respect that killer instinct.

I shall watch that vid thank you sir appreciate the help you offering :)

Haha I thought youve been playing longer. You were running around with the AWP. You sniper me quite a few times 😂.

AWP <3 <3 <3

That triple kill one shot though. I was damn lucky xD

Word of advice, rather practice casual Dust II instead of Deathmatch. In Deathmatch everybody runs around with AWP's the whole time. Does not give you a taste of what the game is actually like at a competitive level. Come join me in casual tonight :D

Ahhhh the nostalgia . We definitely played in the same era then :) Nick back then?

I remember from the Beta's -> 1.0 -> 1.3 ... auto shotgun, man that thing was a beast. Played in a clan called <ES> and all 5 of us would storm B on dust1 with jumping (almost bunny hopping) and auto shottys, LOL unstoppable.

Hi Arf

I used to play under Hawk, for a clan called |snL|, though you won't recognise my nick, we were limited to lans and campus networks. We went to one WCG event in Cape Town. Got knocked out first round :p

But yeah that era was golden. The AWP unscoped still had a crosshair and was accurate, and in the early betas the m4 had a zoom instead of a silencer. I miss the mp5 a lot too, today still, that thing was a wrecking machine. And as you mention the bunny hop, no jump penalty when hitting the ground. The whole game was still in testing phase. And then during 1.5 and 1.6 that auto shotgun really came into its own on a tiny little map called dashur.

The map I miss most from those days was the very clean Aztec. Wish they would redo a clean version of it and put it back into circulation.

Guys I have accepted some steam invites lastnight not sure who sent but thanks will play later today/tonight :)

@SILTECH786

I added you under the nick Hawke, but I might change my nick to Soren/Havoc/Savant tonight, just a heads-up.

So not sure what gaming background you come from. But cs has a few principles we can start out with.

Principle 1: Never run and shoot. Gun fire randomizes if you move while firing (the level of randomisation is unique to cs, no other game randomizes as widely as cs when you move and fire). You either need to stop dead when firing at someone or counter-strafe (strafe side to side and only fire when you change direction, at that moment the gun is perfectly accurate). The basic idea of cs is unlike another shooter not to kill everyone of the opposition, it is firstly to trade (take at least someone with you if you die). Getting two or three is great, but the focus when you start out is one kill every round. This will stand you in good stead for the comps you will be playing in the future.

In order to practice standing still I recommend one of two crosshair settings:

cl_crosshairstyle 3 (spreads while moving and shooting) or cl_crosshairstyle 5 (only spreads while shooting). These are both console commands. 3 is nice to help you remember to come to a stop, 5 is very helpful when you want to practice counter strafing. Once you are comfortable with your movement, moving to a static crosshair some time in the future is recommended. (also cut the dark outline on the crosshair and remove the dot - though this is purely personal preference)

I will be on ts on ts.promethiumnetworks.co.za tonight. I use the nick Havoc there in the cs go room under the Absurdism room group. We can pick up things verbally there.

There is about 50 more principles but no one wants to start out with information overload.

@ViVception you welcome to join let me know what time add me on steam thanks

@Recho I use to play COD but not online so the run and gun is a dirty habit which my attempt to work out is paying off nicely willing to learn all the vaulable advice you offering :)

Lol, so this video is hilarious due to the age, but funny how little in cs has actually changed from a how you should approach the game while playing.

Got to love the start of the vid though, which shows how far professional gaming has come.

@SILTECH786

But in terms of principle 1 above, if you watch the first few minutes of this classic cs 1.5 video note how all of them stop dead just prior to starting to fire. CS GO is exactly the same.

Thank you @Star_22 , that was gold.

"When you are a CT and want to challenge the awper at long"

What you need:
You need to stop buying the PP-Bizon, it is no good...

Of soos ons hom in Afrikaans noem, die PP-Bisonder lekker (lees k*k)

Corporal Rank 5 long way to go getting there 1 step at a time ;) ...

A noob lem/supreme here.

Just some things:

Dont just buy an awp in comps/dm’s.
Learn atleast 2-3 smokes per bombsite.
Find decent people to play with. If u soloQ, u never know what shiiters you’ll encounter. It’s always nice to have atleast 2 guys in the lobby you can trust.
Dont bait/lurk too far from teamies.

Practice. 😆

Practice makes perfect. There are no real shortcuts, the more time you put in you will start to realize what you need to do to improve your game :)

Decent teammates makes a big difference. Was playing competitive with some mates the other night and the match was a breeze. Everyone stuck to the same strategy and worked together and it paid off in spades. Wasted the other team 16-3.

I’ve found when I queue with random people a lot of them just try and get as many kills as they can instead of working as a team. People seem to not understand that kills is a very tiny part of what makes you rank up in competitive.

Yeah soloQ is a nightmare. Best to have friends to queue with that you can rely on and whom communicate well. Consistent wins and MVP stars are what matters for rank-ups imo, and that relies on team work to happen.
