Good day Carbies. Hope you are well.
So I'm looking at upgrading my network setup but I am a it unsure on my setup I would like to purchase.
The problem I have right now:
Poor wifi(802.11n)
Balance of bandwidth is poor
Poor or no connection to PCs and devices on the same network. (ping the ip address it can't find destination making shared drives difficult )
What I hope is to do with this upgrade is future proof and improve our current setup. As well as Fibre came to our area🕺
I would like to buy so far:
- 2x ubiquiti ap AC lite
OR 1x ubiquit ap AC LR(if it is enough)
-1x planet switch GSW-1601 v2(off carb)
Cat5e(off carb)
-Rj45 cat5e connectors and cable tester and clipper.
The part I'm lost at :
- Will this solve my problem?
- Am I missing anything?
- Can internet be plugged straight into the switch from the modem/router?
- I read up on crosstalk, when does this - become a problem? (Will have a maximum of 3 cables in 1 pipe)
- Where can I also purchase wall sockets with more than 1 RJ45 socket?
If you need anymore info will add it as an update to the original post.
If I missed anything important and it's needed in the setup let me know. It's my first time setting up a network like this so I any reading material you have link it all
Thanks in advance
