Hi guys,

What app/site would you'll suggest for buying Bitcoins, Ethereum etc. with the least fees and transfer costs?

I am currently using Luno but their fees are too high.

Also is there a wallet that incurs no charges when transferring currency to it?

i'm a newbie to this so please excuse the noobity of my questions.

You need to read about all the coins and see which ones you like and want to hold. For me, it's Ripple. I pay the fees because I know what I'm doing and I need speed. Time is money.

I made an extra 25% on Ripple last night having purchased more at 3pm the same day. Initially, I purchased 1690XRP at USD 0.24

Which app/site do you use to buy Ripple? Luno offers only Bitcoin and Ethereum. I purchased some Ethereum last week and currently sitting at a profit of approximately 25%.

Google but the guys will tell you to use Bittrex. I use Bitfinex

I think Bitfinex registration is still closed, I've tried several times this week to open an account with them.

Also don't touch Bitfinix because they are also having withdraw issues.
I shall test this theory by sending some XRP.

Over the past few weeks we, and likely yourselves, have noticed an increase in reports of unconfirmed deposits and withdrawals moving in and out of Bitfinex.
Wallet clients can occasionally have errors take place during the generation a transaction, especially when processing transactions at the scale we do. Similarly, deposits could be missed by the wallet client occasionally, causing a deposit to not instantly and automatically process. These errors result in your transaction (deposit/withdrawal) needing to be manually reviewed and reprocessed by a member of our team.

This is an inconvenient, time-consuming process, and something which often results in stress for our users who may be uncertain as to whether or not their money has disappeared. This is unfortunate, as it is often not up to an error made by the user themselves, for which reason the associated stress is often unjust. We apologise for that.

To put this into perspective -
We have received 1,152,419 individual deposits and withdrawals requests (combined) between November 1, 12:00 UTC and December 1, 12:00 UTC .

This boils down to
± 1600 deposits and withdrawals per hour
± 26.676 deposits and withdrawals per minute

A small percentage of these transactions have issues. If even 0.1% of all deposits and withdrawals have complications, this still results in ~1,152 cases in November which need to be manually expedited.

If you are waiting for a deposit/withdrawal to be manually processed, I’d like to ask that you comment your support ticket ID in this thread (or PM me with information regarding your issue) and I will make sure your ticket is assigned and queued immediately.

Make sure that the support ticket you have opened includes all relevant information in order to efficiently handle your request. If it doesn't already, make sure the ticket includes the following details, if applicable:

 • Currency
 • Blockchain transaction ID
 • Destination address
 • Amount of the transaction
 • Bitfinex deposit ID / withdrawal ID

If you already have an existing ticket, but did not include part of these details, please reply to the ticket confirmation email you will have received after opening the ticket and send the additional relevant details.

Please note - this will not result in your withdrawal/deposit being processed immediately. Our hope however is that this will help speed up the process a little bit.

Looks like it was a problem in November which is understandable, it was chaos in the markets. Seems to be OK now.

I just bought R2000 worth of BTC on Luno @ R164k/BTC. I'm fairly confident that BTC prices will look better tonight. At which point I will sell and take the free money with a smile :p

On the other hand, if prices continue to drop, I will buy more BTC!

Edit: Luno's website and mobile app is timing out so badly right now so if you decide to buy, good luck!

No one can really tell you. The risk is yours, if it was me I would buy, but thats just me. I would suggest you buy before the segwit2x fork (28 Dec, block 501451) and send it to a private wallet, electrum is what I use.

Yeah had that same confidence at a casino for 17 black on roulette. Guess what ... It didn't drop [emoji22]

17 black did come a few spins later. Guess I should have waited

Too true! One can never for certain for anything on the crypto world really! But it's a chance I'm willing to take.
belleraphon could you perhaps elaborate on the fork? I wasn't aware of it at all. Why send it to a pvt wallet? Apologies of the answer is quite obvious, but I'm learning something new everyday.

its just so that when it forks you get a equal amount of the forked currency,Im not sure what they will call it, (s2x or b2x) so if you have 2btc you will have 2 b2x, keeping it in a private wallet, like elcetrum, you will be able to eventually take your b2x out and then sell it or hodl.
Eg: when the btc hardfork happened that gave us bch (bitcoin cash) you could eventually just download a electroneum wallet, if you had btc before the fork, and if you say had btc in a electrum wallet you could use the seed from that wallet with you electroneum wallet and you had the same amount bch as you had btc when the fork happened.

Here is some info about the fork that I stole from a website, you will see that you will get a bit more than just b2x when it forks.

"on December 28, the backward-incompatible SegWit2x hardfork is scheduled to occur. It will result in the formation of an altcoin (S2X or B2X) with 4MB blocks and SegWit support. Interestingly, the developers have said that all BTC balances held at fork time will not only be credited with an equal amount of B2X but also a proportional number of Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto’s coins as a reward."
