Seller is a #$%%. 1 series & mini's are probably the most fault prone cars (in my limited car knowledge). Kind of not surprising as the target market generally won't be the hand-on-repair type & will just take it. If I recall on the global "lemon" list , BMW are constantly in the top 3-5, in most parts of the world. Also if she is paying lets say R100k, she should put R50k away for repairs / servicing etc. Once she gets to 25-30k of repairs, start looking to sell the car, thats my view anyway.
