Ok, so i convinced my dad to take a trip with me locally at least. I need suggestion for a lekker plekkie for father and son to go to. Not too close and not too far.
I was thinking maybe Harties again or to Alzu out on the N4 or something. Need suggestions as I dont know good places LOL.

Took my mother to WaffleHouse in harties this weekend, Freaking amazing food and a very nice place - service was freaking amazing as well. Everything was just above par.
Not just dessert at the name would suggest, I had a beef stroganoff with red wine and onion sauce (on a waffle).

Its built into the windmill so normally a small market as well and then there is a very nice bookstore on the inside of the windmill if he's into reading.
Would go back any day.

Harties is so overdone, plus you have to contend with the weekend-warrior idiots.

Can highly recommend the following - both are an easy ride out from Jhb/Pta. Food is good, beers are cold.

Take a ride to Donkey Dairy. About an hour away, you can chill with miniature animals and try ride a llama.

Miniature goats, llamas, other animals. Lekker day out, especially if you or the lady or kids like naimals.

It was a fun ride but defo a once in a long while thing. I have never nursed my 1st and 2nd gear as much as I did that day. And some of those "classic" bikes are like sowing machines with 2 wheels.

It is a fine balance... Cover the most distance, in the least amount of time while burning the least amount of fuel. Hmmm. Pin it in 6th, we can discuss the intricacies at the next fuel stop.

Yes there is definitely a optimal speed for covering the most distance using the least fuel but sometimes riding @ 120 casually like @ovisser1 always does is sometimes nice and pleasant. You don't need to go fast all the time

I have a 60+ Y.O mother who still rides. I can't leave her behind on rides so 120-140 is what we do.... well, when I was riding. In a few months I will probably have a bike again.
