Need some advise ladies and gents. I took in my harley 48 yesterday after complaining I could feel every bump on the road and I felt like it was "bouncing".

They adjusted my suspension to suit my weight and it help alot however the "bouncing" is still there. According to them my front rim is buckled but you cant see it, but if they put it on a machine and spin it (with tyre on) it looks like there is a flat section. I know I hit a squarish speed bump pretty hard a week ago.

I'm am currently in a email fight with them as I am certain I took a tyre and rim warranty but on the insurance side it only shows tyre cover.

In case I need to cover the costs myself is it feasible to repair the rim? I did it on my cbr600 but it was a rear rim. I want to take it to another shop to get a second opinion.

A replacement rim from harley is 9k which just seems hectic.

No expert but I suppose how bad the damage is.
Would definitely take it for a second opinion and yes, that is rather pricey.

I think Duc rears are around the 6k mark.
But then everything harley is pricey.

9k for a new rim is honestly not too far out there... A BMW S1000 replacement rim is 20k, and for the 1299 25k. 👀

Fortunately, most rim damage can be repaired for a lot cheaper.

My Ducati rear wheel got quite a bit of damage over the weekend, and repair is quoted at 3k for repair and new powder coat. I do all these types of repairs at 'Racebox' here in Pretoria. PM me if you are keen on the contact.

SSSSOOO, on Wednesday I got my first full track day on my '21 RR....
BOY O BOY am I happy.
By the end of the day I was almost a second UNDER my personal best set on the Ducati....on a bike with pillion footpegs....
I got help from the legendary Ricky Morias to setup the suspension for me, so tomorrow we shake it down again.

So BMW > Ducati? o_O

So BMW > Ducati? o_O
with my round figure on it...on a track, at my skill level. YES.
I am currently posting times on HOT summers practice days, that I could not post in ideal winter afternoon races being towed by a field.

Thanks, I will pm you.

Friday I went around to a few places. Eventually took it to Rad KTM in sunninghill who said they can see a slight wooble. But they are certain its the wheel spokes that need to be adjusted and not the rim itself.

So yesterday I had my final trackday for the year, due to re deploying to work in North Africa.... i cant complain, its been a good 19 months of "working from home".
In a surprise I was invited to join my good mates at the magnificent and stupid fast Kyalami Grand Prix circuit.

Towards the end of the day I got permission to use a camera angle most tracks and track days would never allow, a gopro on the chin of my helmet, giving a real first person view of what I see.

Enjoy my modest attempt at a fast lap around Kyalami guys.

Is it just my tires or bike rubber pick up punctures so easily?

Just don't ride over kak.
Only kidding but not.

Not sure dude. I suppose it depends on where you ride.
I haven't picked up a punture on my car since I arrived in Jhb. EL, used to get them monthly.

As for the bike, 700km and nothing yet, so I'm holding thumbs I am not unlucky.
