Bikers!?

Africa Twin DCT :p

What you gonna use it for?

Im scared of Ducati maintenance and service costs... ?
Go to Ducati, chat to Roy, tell him Michael from Adrenaline Experiment sent you. I know it's an oxymoron, but he's one of 2 honest salesmen I know. The Diavel should be cheaper to maintain than the 1290.

I wasn't allowed to get a bike, a new Ninja 250 cost R49k at the time and my eventual Corsa Lite cost R45k. I bought a 390 Duke 2 years ago and have been riding pretty much everyday since.

Do you ride near Brightwater?

I see a couple little dukes around my area

Diavel or Superduke - for the looks

or 1290 super adventure ?

1290 SDuke is quite a tall bike.
SuperAdventure is even taller, I don't fit.
The Diavel apparently feels weird to ride as its a power cruiser with the power delivery of a decent sports bike.

LOL no.
They are similar xD

I have gotten quotes on both and a few other models. Roughly the same cost in the long run.
KTM with a service interval of 1 year or 15000 km. The Diavel is every 6000km(If I remember correctly) or 1 year

I was faced with the same decision and ended up with the KTM Superduke GT and haven't looked back since. The KTM has beaten the Ducati in all reviews. As for maintenance, it's 15k km intervals which is twice as far as the ducati

The Ducati's service intervals are 15k km, just like KTM.

Nah dude, I got rid of the POS long ago. Check my posts on TB for the KTM Saga.

I sat on a super adventure today, I fit nicely on it.
It really felt light for such a big bike

It also has the power to boot xD
I'm sure it'll take on the diavel without much effort.

But Ducatis are nice bikes as well. I almost bought a monster but my inner child was screaming "POWER!" and the KTM has it.
I'm a twin fan(Not flat twins) So you can't go wrong with either bike :).
The Monster 1200 is a bit better when it comes traffic but they both easy to ride bikes.

Pssst
Just between you and me, Get the KTM :p

No, new Ducati motors have super long intervals especially for big maintenance.

15,000 km normal intervals.

I am also unsure about this, cause last it checked the Desmo service is 15000km's, don't know what the normal interval is.

Yes that's what I said.

I mean their major valve check services are now much further part than they used to be.

Unless it's a Panigale it's not that expensive any more.

Just buy your brake pads somewhere else and do it yourself.

Diavel's problem is the ground clearance.

Super adventure is like a Swiss army knife, it does everything.

Normal Diavel sucks.

X Diavel is a truly unique bike offering a unique experience.

Ducati XDiavel: unique Sport-Cruiser bikes

Ground clearance is irrelevant. If anything the fact that your elbows touch down before your knees do it what makes it brilliant.

If you meant lean angle and not ground clearance...it's 40-degrees.

Sorry meant lean Angle. 40Deg on Sport any bike is very little, V-Max has 41 Deg, and that is considered a drag bike.

Having ridden one it’s honestly the last concern on my mind.

Wouldn’t be taking it to the track, but wouldn’t be buying it for that either.

As a breakfast runner it’s awesome.

I still think the Diavel is an awesome bike, but I already have a cruiser and superbike, so the adventure seemed like the logical choice...

I may have to sell my SDukeR Soon-ish :'(

Possible downgrades:
SV650 I've had one before, good solid bike
MT07 Supposedly a nice mix of exciting and sensible (coming from a 1290, I don't think it will)
ER6 Got my license on one, good bike though very revvy
Maybe a MV 800 Dragster (Because Im stupid) xD

What would be your choices? or anything I may have missed out?
