BFBC2 Latest Patch Issues! Help?

Hi all,
I just bought bfbc2 for pc.. i ran the updater and it tells me i have an old version ("version 553292") and must update to the latest version "version 795745" to be able to play... i click "yes" update.. immediately it says
"could not find latest patch version.
There might be an internet connection problem or server is down.
Play the old version? YES/NO"
Ive tried downloading the patch from a million different websites and ALWAYS, half way through the download it says Unknown network error.. There is nothing wrong with my internet connection.

Here is where i have narrowed it down to downloading the patch: Manually downloading Client R11 - Electronic Arts UK Community
but i still get a "unknown network error half way through download and then it stops..

P.S i can play single player obviously just not online.. coz no servers come up
Please could someone help?

when you say the updater, that is not within the program Origin is it?

also the problem you get saying "unkown network error", is that on the SA downloads?
have you tried it from the other mirrors?

if I remember correctly, guys had problems downloading the local update.

i get it with every download i try.. the international one too..

what is your location. Someone that is close by that already have a backup of the patch can probably help you out.

dont know if i am allowed to say.

but is there not a Torrent link that you can download from? have you tried that.

afik, the updater doesn’t work anymore, I assume that EA has disabled the update servers for BC2.
Download the patch here and install.

It turns out that the problem was my internet when downloading.. its 100% with everything else but when downloading i get "unknown network error"
P.S just downloaded it at work and it worked perfectly!
