Battlefield V

Not sure.... I disabled it now in Nvidia Control Panel as not much options in BFV menu, or I'm a little dumb with the menu. Anyway, going to run now with cam to check FPS while DXR disable and then enable to see difference.

well I think there is a clear option in the BF menu saying Vsync

Hi boet , I am an old fart I struggle to read too much information. Ou ballie sindroom

from Main Menu, More > Options > Video > Advanced > 6th or 7th option

had some kak rounds again last night...
1: 1st server people were teleporting all over the place.... 1 time I was capping a flag and suddenly a guy appeared right in front of me out of nowhere
2: 2nd server had very bad 'lag'... like a rubber band effect where it's as if something is pulling you back (not proper banding where you jump back to certain spot after trying to move away)

oh and, finally go to learn what that "HOLD B" blinking next to my name meant :p :D

Hi OTC... so I played around a bit more. I was the one stating the the issue with the poor performance of Ray tracing in battlefield is all software not hardware and most people told me I don't know what I am talking about. Well let me put it this way.... when vsync stuck at 60 and DXR on at Ultra running 1440P I get 60fps all round. I played around and tried switching off Vsync...cannot for the live of me find it inside BFV so I used Nvidia control panel..... but visuals looked very bad and distorted but with 100 to 150fps. I'll search to find the proper way of disabling vsync and try again. But ven at 60FPS at 1440P I'm pretty happy.

oh, I mistook your original comment as a 'bad surprise' which is why I kept thinking of why it is running 'bad'.

if you are happy with it then definitely won't change anything.

only mentioned turning off Vsync cause I saw a comment where person said with Vsync, if you have an Xhz monitor it will lock game at Xfps

Tides Of War has been delayed it seems.

Hope it's a big patch that fixes a lot of things. Game not all that fun at the moment.

So after trying everything recommended by every site on the internet, I nearly gave up on the game. It still played poorly and I was over it.

Then I tried the one thing that every site said to NEVER EVER EVER do, and turn on DX12.

Night and day difference on my 1070. Consistently getting between 70-95 frames at 1440p and it feels much smoother. Frame timing seems to be better or something.

Just FYI for anyone struggling with performance.

Still hate the TTK though.

What processor and RAM are you using?

I hope it Nerf's bombers , Bombers and more bombers

Hate those things, hope it fixes the stuck between round issues

Yeah once a bomber knows the map it's crazy hard to take them down but it is possible. Just requires teamwork.
It does require team work but it is a lack in this game if a medic or even your other team mate 5m away from you can't or won't revive you then this game is utter shit

How is the game shit if the people playing it aren't playing it the way it's made to be played?

Well there are these snipers, and they keep sniping me. This game is shit.

/jk Loving it, apart from the bombers. I imagine they are being flown by EFF members, because all they do is destroy and make everybody sad.

Finally found out how to disable Vsync in BFV.... In the menu change your quality settings to Minimum, Medium, Good, Unltra or Custom. Exit the menu and go back in then it shows. So I disabled it and the highest I saw was abput 87fps and lowest 58fps. Switching off ray tracing it sits between 125fps and 105fps. So still a drop.... and seriously I really struggle to see the difference in quality.

What program is a good accurate program to see your fps? I use the one from steam for steam games.

I wonder when we'll get a battlefield game that gets developed over 3 years, and I mean separated by 3 years at least to give the developers time to create a full game that is more than an incremental change or a "reskin"...and maybe actually deliver a full game on release? This games-as-a-service fuckery is going to kill my appetite for gaming.

Done with Battlefield franchise, not even a little bit interested in getting this. Enjoy peeps

I am with you on this.... I only have this game because I purchased a RTX graphics card and got it as a gift with the purchase. I've only tested it with my card not really played it.

EA are a bunch of morons, and they've done a lot to hurt the BF franchise. That said, BF V is better that BF 1 in every aspect.
I'm not saying the game is perfect, because it's not but it's been years since I have had this much fun in a BF game.

Oh for sure, EA has the ability to turn some of the best developers into a shell of their former selves.
The thing that just makes me over it, is not only that it seems BFV is incomplete, but that they've done this bullshit since Battlefront, and I think i'm done trying to get excited to play another battlefield game. I do really think it's a series I wont return to until DICE/EA pays attention to their game and not only the bottom line. Imagine they put in the effort of developing a game for a few years, like proper development to make something new (aka, Battlefield 3). But instead, they've gone the COD route and will release the same game every year with a new skin and maybe a tweak to gameplay to make it seem fresh. I don't doubt your enjoyment, I'm sure I'd probably enjoy parts of it too, but as a whole, since BF3/BF4, they've kept incrementally updating the game, and then selling it for R1000 every year. I'm done with supporting that business model. Done.

EA/DICE doesn't pay any attention to the opinions of the gamers themselves. They are too focused on ground-breaking graphics at the expense of gameplay. They had the perfect recipe in BF2. It was an ingenious game and the gameplay was simply outstanding and record-breaking in itself. I had well over 3500 hrs in a jet with a 72/1 streak lol... not even counting the rest. Many years after it was discontinued there are still servers running it. There even was an effort in trying to revive it....but EA did not pay attention. Even 1942 was a hit but all went pear-shaped from there. When they also decided to remove vehicles is when it became a glorified COD and because COD had the better gameplay BF lost players. All they had to do was keep the fundamentals and then update the graphics engine but no...they wanted to reinvent the lightbulb. Why fix something that is not broken?
Hence all the glitches. The more complex you make a game the more problem you will inevitably run into. Look at CS. Still a hit due to GAMEPLAY!
EA had the forums but it seems EA’s definition of a forum is exclusively a venting platform and not for constructive feedback from the gamers actually playing their games. They could have based their game on the issues raised in the forums and could have saved the franchise.
All BF releases had to undergo "growing pains" but the technical fundamentals should be there. I am looking forward to trying this as my last effort at a BF release.
