Description of Bad Deal:
I’m posting this for the purpose of warning others as I see he was last seen on carb yesterday.

There is no thread, @Tasha@ whose name is Dean posted in a number of threads that he had a 3600 cpu to sell. I contacted him on Carb and arranged to purchased the cpu (face to face meeting) on New years day. I got home popped it into a test board and it went into bios and thought all was good. The next day we left and went away for 2 weeks. When I got back, I put the cpu in my son’s pc and it wouldn’t boot. It blue screens as soon as the pc enters windows. I even tried reinstalling windows with the same result - BSOD. I tried a few other boards and they all did the same, BSOD. I contacted Dean and told him the problem. He said I must bring it to him to test (he works at some Matrix). I shipped it to him on the 2nd of Feb. After a long time and having to let his ‘colleague’ test it, he finally (17th of Feb) accepted it is broken. I asked him for a refund and he said he could not do that as it was working 100% when he gave it to me. I asked if he had video proof of that… ‘radio silence’. I asked him if he could send my broken cpu back, to which he replied yes and I haven’t heard from him again. He has the money and broken cpu. Last communication was on the 20th of Feb. I know my money is gone and my beautiful, broken cpu that I love so much but hopefully this can serve as a warning for other Carbies.

@VetoViper please send me the info you have on him.

@Deanspy you were also online, and you're linked to this account. Match IP and your name is Dean, so I'm guessing you're operating on your girlfriend's account. What's the story here?

Bru the Hawks must hire you, send your cv there

As I told the gent, the processor was working 100% when he bought it from me, he only installed and tested it one month after he bought it from me, I told him I would test it and see if I can get it working but I had no luck, I will send it back to him as soon as I have the cash for courier, I unfortunately cannot accept responsibility for the broken item because it was only tested about a month after he bought it, he could have done anything with it in the interim, I'm not 100% sure what the return policies are on Carbonite but 1 to 2 months is not acceptable, he more than likely out it in wrong damaging the processor or possibly he over clocked out and burnt it out, I cannot be sure.

I am not really allowed to sell any computer parts on any platforms due to conflict of interest as I work for matrix warehouse, that's why I sold my personal processor on Carbonite through my girlfriend's account, I'm sure as it was my personal processor and I was doing the sale on my own time my ops manager would have been ok with it but it's better safe than sorry, I need my job I like most people have bills to pay and a family to feed. There is nothing suspicious or underhanded going on here. I did a fair deal and the person accusing me did not handle the situation correctly. For eg due to company policies I am required to pay for faulty items if they are not returned in the required lead time by suppliers, most suppliers are 30 days.

@VetoViper was it really a month after purchase that you sent it back to him? That's a bit of a stretch, I have to admit.

Agreed. He said he fired it up and it worked. This means the seller shipped off a working CPU.

Who knows in those 2 weeks while he was away he might have had loadshedding that could have damaged the CPU. [ If he really never used it for 2 weeks aswell. ]

I think the fault lies on the buyer unfortunately

As I stated I bought it on the 1 Jan. Was away came back and installed it in my son's pc, it didn't work. No one touched that cpu while I was away. I tried many different boards before messaging him on the 29th Jan to tell him I have exhausted all attempts to get this cpu to work. He then told me to drop it off. I started arranging courier and it was sent to him on the 2nd of Feb. I asked for proof of it working as he claimed, which he could not provide.

I've worked with many pc's over the years that cpu was not working.

I did say that I made peace with the fact that I had lost that money but to make others aware of this guy. He plays all innocent but I asked him to please send the broken cpu back on the 20th Feb and then he went silent and I haven't heard from him again. That's when I decided to warn everyone.

@VetoViper I understand you want it back, I would want it back as well, to be honest. Thing is, between you installing it, it POSTing and you leaving the PC for two weeks, something could have happened. A month later is a bit long in the tooth.

I agree he should send it back, but I also don't think he sent you a purposely broken CPU. In that same breath, there is no thread for it (not that I excuse people selling broken shit without a thread), but it's just another pillar missing from a proper bad deal thread.

To me, the only wrongdoing here is that he hasn't sent it back yet. @Deanspy please ensure you courier it back to him ASAP. I don't even think you should pay for the courier, as you're not to blame. @VetoViper I'd send a courier to pick it up, if I were you.

Thanks Toxxyc. I'll do that. Apologies for wasting everyone's time.

It boots into bios on that motherboard every time. It just won't load into windows no matter what you do.

I accept it's all my fault. Thanks

Not too much of a waste of time, don't worry. Remember we all choose to be here.

Except maybe @Deanspy, he was summoned.
