So I bought 2 Arcade cabinets not so long ago and gutted them. The parts are mostly from one of the cabinets. Please note the following :
Buttons :
- The buttons are enough to put together some form of cabinet or build for a 2 player 4 button config. So that's 10 buttons (P1 and P2 Start + P1 4 Button and P2 4 Button)
- The buttons are dirty with some of them sticking. This is the state they came out the original cabinet. Nothing some elbow grease and patience won't fix. I simply don't have the time, inclination or patience to do it myself.
- These are leaf switch type switches and not the microswitches. Leaf switches are far superior in my humble opinion.
Joysticks :
- These 2 need some attention. They are 'dumb' devices with movement that triggers one of 4 leaf switches, so no electronic bits. Elbow grease and patience recommended here too.
Power Supply:
This is the bog standard Arcade Power supply that does 5v, -5v, 12v.
One of these : Power Supply
Same same but different. One I have is old a bit bruised but working.
Jamma Harness:
It's a harness that fits in to an arcade Jamma board.
Screen:
Proper arcade screen. The true 15khz version. For retro enthusiasts they would know these things are the gold standard for the true experience and absolutely nothing compares. They're also like hens teeth. Very difficult to source.
Only thing you will have to source yourself is the power board and controller. Quick research shows this should be relatively easy to do.
Original board and controller that accompanied the screen is dead. I've sent that to a buddy to have a look at but if repaired I intend keeping that for another build I'm busy with.
Because of the general condition of the buttons and joysticks (dirty and in need of a service) I'd say the overall condition of those items are poor. Functional in their current state but only just and with a clean and attention they can be made to work flawlessly with a more general aesthetic appeal. Note, these are out a 30+ year old cabinet so please, the items are not new. They are old and retro
Due to the weight of the screen - shipping is not likely.
No idea of a return PIF value but I do know the screen is the bulk of any quantifiable cost.
I'm thinking R750 to @NYRAD and we call it a day.
