You need to watch: One Piece | Live Action

As a long time fan that has been reading the manga for +10 years, I was very skeptical. Live action adaptations are notorious for being crap.

That being said - I enjoyed the live action a lot, very fun watch. They did an awesome job.

I think there are definitely awkward parts that simply don't translate well from the manga, but I feel like they did the best they could for a live action adaptation.

For the purists out there, you can also toggle on the japanese dub.

This doesn't feel accurate in regards to the upper limit of 50, most people make their decision to keep watching or dropping within the first season which for tv series is on average 23 episodes, anime is even shorter as one season is typically one cour for 13 episodes (some anime are one season with two cours for a total of up to 26 episodes). First 5 episodes sounds more accurate.

Talking specifically about One Piece here. Long runners don't follow the same pacing as seasonal anime, especially One Piece

Arlong Park is used as the benchmark because it starts to give people a sense of what the essence of One Piece is

The 3 eps "rule" is what most seasonal anime watchers use. I've never used any rule, and still have zero drops on my list to date

I don't think 5 eps would give anyone an idea of what this is about, but up to you how you want to spend your time. One Piece only became something special to me personally at around Enies Lobby which was around 300 eps
