Has anyone watched this yet?

I watched it a few weeks back and watching it again now because, it's flippen excellent.
I have never watched or read anything from the One Piece Anime or Manga, but this show just oozes dedication to the source material. It honestly feels like a real life live action anime.
The casting is excellent, and you can really feel that so much care and effort has been put in from everyone involved.

Highly recommend it, even if anime isn't your thing. It's fun, smart, witty, tragic, amazing fight choreography, beautifully shot with excellent CGI and so so much heart.

It was also shot here in CT :)

Yeah, enjoyed this far more than I had expected to. It's cartoon-like live action with some good comedy and very decent acting.

Honestly I tried to watch it and realized it's kak. The acting is terrible. It's very childlike. Maybe it's aimed at 14 year olds, I don't know, but the bit that I watched felt like watching dreams die.

You just don't like fun :ROFLMAO:

I dunno, man. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
It's a massive hit for Netflix and audiences are loving it.
I thought the acting was great, the casting even better.
It's just a blast to watch.

I mean, it's based off the best selling comic book series of all time.

I havn't watched any anime since I was in my late teens (besides maybe studio ghibli stuff), so I wouldn't call myself a fan of anime. This show, however, nails what an anime is, more-so than I've ever seen.

Give it another go.

This guy put it well:

Never seen the anime and still enjoyed it
I have to admit that I've never watched any of the animated show One Piece or even heard about it for that matter. I'm really not a big fan of anime. Then after watching the trailers for this I thought it looked like a show for children. I was wrong. I kept reading about how good this show is and how it's #1 on Netflix so I thought I'd give it a chance. I'm glad I did because I couldn't have been more wrong. This is a show where people of all ages can enjoy. If you can just turn off your brain and watch I promise you'll have a good time. If you're looking for a new show to binge then give One Piece a try. You won't be disappointed!

I loved the live action version! Busy watching the anime now because wtf are we gonna do for the next two years until season 2 comes out.

Now that's dedication.
Let us know how it is.

I don't think I could commit to 1000+ episodes.

If any one you anime nerds want 90 days free crunchy roll let me know, i've got a free code with game pass

Most people use the Arlong Park arc as the point to decide whether to drop, that's about the 1st 50 eps

But if it's already something that you feel like you can't commit to, then I don't think it's worth looking for other views. You could still consider One Pace or the read the manga

I gave this another go after being reliably informed here that I was missing out and it is in fact excellent.

No, still kak. 15 minutes is all I can manage.

I really enjoyed this and I'm not a fan of anime in general, something different compared to all the other kak on Netflix.

Your loss.

The show is quite good. I'd recommend it to anyone who just wants to sit back, relax, and enjoy the start of an amazing adventure story.

im with @UrBaN_BuNnY here

Watched 300 eps of anime till I couldnt anymore, could not watch 15 mins of live action crap and bad acting.

Any attempt from original japanese to live action english is sheit, look at Cowboy Bebop and how no one watched that because it was not as well known as one piece.

You are both in a tiny minority that are wrong and hate fun.

Even the Drinker loves it, and he rips apart most things.

One piece live action for me is not bad, but it's def not binge worthy... I have been watching an episode or 2 every few days... all I do is wait till like 10pm at night when my brain has all but fucked off and I go potato on my bed with the tv on...

I’m not saying you guys shouldn’t enjoy.

I’m just saying it’s kak. If you enjoy it then I’m happy for you.

I’m not an anime fan at all so maybe that’s part of it.

I absolutely loved Arcane, watched it through twice. To be fair though, that was good so it’s not a fair comparison.

Neither am I. I havn't watched an anime in about 20 years.

I guess what partly makes me really enjoy One-Piece is that it doesn't give a fuck. It's over the top, it's cheesy, it's fun and it's got a lot of heart.
There is nothing else like it on TV.

This doesn't feel accurate in regards to the upper limit of 50, most people make their decision to keep watching or dropping within the first season which for tv series is on average 23 episodes, anime is even shorter as one season is typically one cour for 13 episodes (some anime are one season with two cours for a total of up to 26 episodes). First 5 episodes sounds more accurate.

Fair enough, I mean we enjoy your mom too, which I don't think you would...
My mom is a great lady, many people enjoy her company. Best thing she ever did, opening a school for downies so you fucks have a place to smear jam on your faces and pretend you're a pepperoni pizza.
