Perhaps a silly question but would a Mercer 12v 1200va inverter work with any 12v battery or would you need a minimum of a 12v 100ah battery?

If I use a small 10ah battery for example, other than getting really small capacity would it still work?

Inverter in question is the inverter below

Check this out on takealot: Mecer 1200VA 720W 12V Inverter

Should work as long as its voltage is correct.

Keep in mind that it chargers at 10amp . That means within 1hr a battery of 10amp capacity will be fully charged. At that rate it's possible a lead acid battery will overheat and may cause problems or even set fire.

I have the 2400va version running two 12v 50AH Lalela LiFoPO4 batteries and been working perfectly for months, as mentioned just make sure of the charge amps supported.
