Windows 10 on a PC with MSI Z97 PC Mate and I7 4790 not working?

Hope someone can help.

Got a windows 10 key and upgraded my windows 7 but the person helping states the type of motherboard that was previously used for CCTV system aparently cannot run windows 10. It shutsdown after 10 minutes.

Can that be true that this motherboard is unable to handle windows 10. it has 8gb Ram and should be more than enough with my limited knowledge.

Nope, probably just another issue maybe cpu overheating

There's no way it can't handle windows 10. CPU overheating should also not really be an issue even on the stock Intel cooler if everything is at stock. They get hot but not that hot.

Also I prefer clean install of windows as opposed to updates as there are often issues with upgrades.
