I am looking at buying a 27" 144hz 1080p (flat) monitor. Mostly used for gaming and dev work.
There are SO many out there so hopefully some people with first-hand experience can suggest something decent.

So far I the seemingly best deals I have found are:

Samsung G3

LG ultragear(although I would look at getting this secondhand)

Acer VGO

Dell

Hoping to not spend more than R5000 and wondering if I should wait for Black Friday... Although that does require a lot of self-control.
Any advice would be sweet!♥

p.s. I don't know why Carb let me make the Samsung link blue but refused to make the others blue 🤣

You know what I'll tell you a little story

2 years ago I had my ENTIRE heart set on a laptop and a monitor. I decided to wait for Black Friday...
2 DAYS BEFORE Black Friday the laptop and monitor was out of stock

buy now TBH

Any good monitors sales would have been on sale now by most retailers. Most of the prominent ones are doing Black Friday for most of November. If you see something that is good now you may as well take it. Anything at most you will lose out on saving a 200-500 bucks at most

If you don't mind VA I would say look at the LG 32" 165hz monitor.
It beautiful. My boet has one.
I personally prefer the curve for dual/triple monitor setups so I opted for the Dell 32" panels.

True story from what ViVceptioN said, happened to someone I know last year, saw a GPU on sale for more than 2K off kept waiting for a better deal. Waited too long and it was out of stock. Forced to buy something else that was more expensive

Shot guys! Yeah 27" 1440p would be sick!
But it's a bit out of budget and I think my 1070 would struggle to push decent frames at 1440p.

I'm on a 24" 144hz BenQ at the moment and would really like something a bit bigger, one of my secondary monitors has died and I thought if I have to buy another monitor... might as well upgrade my main monitor.

Have asked a couple of peeps that game on 27" at 1080p and they've said the pixel density really isn't bad, although it is a concern of mine...

Isn't there any 2nd hand 27" 1440p in your price range?

I can almost promise you that you will be disappointed, I have a 27" 1440p and I've worked on a 27" 1080p before and it was horrid.
For gaming, it's probably not as big of an issue.

At 1080p anything on a 27" looks like minecraft, save yourself the hassle and go 1440p now. Your 1070 wont be hitting 144 fps (game dependent of course) but the gpu will likely be the next upgrade for you anyway. Get something with some form of adaptive sync, push the budget if you have to, that when way its time to upgrade the gpu you would still be able to get away with something mid range

Not sure if you have purchased one yet but if not and If you can stretch your budget slightly I would strongly advise you to consider this monitor, you will not regret it. I have not seen this price or less anywhere even on 2nd hand used deals for this monitor. If you are worried about warranty since it is from Evetech, you can confirm if it has warranty with a local distributor whom you can directly contact and you should be good to go.

Thanks man! Yeah I unfortunately listened to the guys saying November specials are garbage and I should buy now haha this is a serious bargain! Would definitely grab one if I had the cash :D
