Try it out, what's the worse that can happen?
And isn't insurance sales a work from home phone based job?

I dont think it matters too much whether you present in office or not. As long as you reach targets and perform I guess. And attend meetings as required.I have never felt comfortable with working from home. Too many distractions.

Hou op 'n pis kriek wees en doen dit! Good luck dude!

edit: Jy het dit gedoen! 1000%, you will do great.

How long before you start selling on carb
Yip. This @StangV2_0 . I'm always on the hunt for better premiums. I'm sure many more are in these trying times.

Had long and short term with Outsurance for many years. They never let me down in short term insurance claims. Moved to Naked for better rates, worst mistake ever.

Anyway, hope the rest of the training is smooth sailing and the road ahead is nothing but good. Sure sounds like you've been through the ringer and deserve better times.

I'd take insurance advice from a carbie as opposed to those calls filled with lunch burps. After a few years, whats stopping you from being a private broker?

As soon as I can afford a Reseller Sub? Jokes aside lots of training to go through before I am competent enough to give advice. The training is quite extensive though. It's amazing how fast they can teach you this stuff.

Will hopefully speak in future.

If I have this correctly, nothing. I think I have two years from date of appointment to do the RE exams which will then qualify me authorized financial advisor in the industry. At that point, or any point thereafter, I can go alone should I have a large enough client base who will support me. But I am no thinking of that in any way now. Right now I want training and experience.

Can always default back to selling cars if shit doesn't work out.

The potential gains to me outweigh the risks involved.

Let us know when you have options for us Carbies with special discounts haha !

Keep at it!

So, update time.

Nailed final exams and was officially handed my broker code on 5th July. Then more training came along and was requested to pass personal lines (to assist with personal insurance where needed) which I nailed on Thursday last week.

I am now considered competent. I have to work under supervision until I pass the RE5 exam which will be setup for around the first quarter of next year. But I have no issue with this. It protects me from making any mistakes, protects OUTsurance, but more importantly, it protects the client from any unnecessary loss due to my inexperience. It's a good thing!

Greatly impressed by the work ethic in the office and management. Positive vibe where staff efforts are acknowledged with great support from management. You can come and go as you wish, no one sits on you, just do your work. Thats it. The successful brokers who earn the big coin are pretty much allowed to do what they wish when they wish. But if they earn the money, why cant they?

Loving it so far and have hit the ground running. Former clients are very receptive to me and all being supportive.

So you're saying we can call you and request quotes?

You are most welcome to! But please be aware that you will need to sign a Letter Of Authority with me before I can quote. And all information of what you wish to be quoted on will be required.

One of the biggest issues is people will just get a "quick quote" and then jump ship. So much important information is missed and then come claim time there is an issue.

On a serious note - people do shop around a lot more with insurance than cars (a different way of selling).
