You have to sideload Netflix so wouldn't use that.Telkom's lit box. Have one, recently updated os. I had the cheap devices as well and won't go back. Ever.
Not on the most recent update? You have to sideload Netflix so wouldn't use that.
+1 on the Xiaomi
For reals? Coz that's the only reason I wasn't getting one really. Not on the most recent update?
The Xaiomi ones are good!
No you don't anymore. The newer lit boxes can run it.You have to sideload Netflix so wouldn't use that.

Not Sure what your budget is,So I'm looking for a streaming device like and android tv box, for Netflix and DSTv Now.
Any advice on what and where to get??
Thanks in advance!
I assume you mean the Mi Box, then yes it does, mine switches on the TV and changes the source on the TV and my AVR.The guys that have the Xiaomi Mi Tv - Does it support HDMI ARC? Does your TV Turn-on when you power on the device?
I have been a LONG time Roku fan but the lack of DSTV is a bummer and especially now that UFC is shown on DSTV - I use my Laptop to cast the DSTV Chrome Tab video to my Roku
Okay Nice - Anyone keen on a Roku Premiere+?I assume you mean the Mi Box, then yes it does, mine switches on the TV and changes the source on the TV and my AVR.
Also I didn't know if it was two different questions, HDMI-CEC is what the turning on etc is and HDMI-ARC will be on your TV, a lot of them not supporting audio return channel from an HDMI source.Okay Nice - Anyone keen on a Roku Premiere+?
Can it do DSTV Now and Netflix 4K?Check out the mygica 1900pro

I also have 2 of them and it's been smooth sailing since day 1. awesome little devicesXiaomi Mi, i have 2 mainly for netflix.
It's on takealot's daily deals today.
I'm sure it's perfectly grand for offline viewing from a HDD and so on but not for streaming, it has a 3 year old version of Android, not even Android TV, it's not Google certified which means I doubt it runs DSTV Now and if it does Netflix it will be limited to SD unless you run a modified APK.4k i believe and dstv, netflix, kodinand showmax.
Air mouse is mad with full keyboard.
4 usb inputs and can take up to 2tb drive 2.5inch which i can download on to.
Great 5ghz ac speeds noted.
Simple to use.
Only thing better for me is nvidea shield

You're really doing yourself a disservice if you buy anything not running Android TV.
When was the last time you checked for DSTV on your Apple TV?What this guy said.
I also will stress again that having the cast capability (only on Google certified boxes) changes lives for the better.
The MyGica boxes, last I checked, cost as much as the MiBox from Xiaomi (top tier at least) and at the time it was advertised it didn't support DSTV or Netflix (this was last year).
You can bypass that by sideloading apps, but it's risky and not worth it for the same amount of money or even less.
Someone mentioned Apple TV, I have a 4th gen and it doesn't support DSTV, it is also twice the price. Not saying it's a horrible device, it's just EXTREMELY limited in SA with local account.
