Have him include a picture of the version of the app, showing it's the latest one and not some ancient version he sideloaded and turned off updates for.

Not Sure what your budget is,

Skyworth 49" UHD tv goes for around R6,999 and runs Android TV - DSTV Now runs smoothly on this and the price vs quality is quite unbeatable (note there's no HDR on this set)

N.B.: I do not work for Skyworth nor will i get any benefit from promoting this product!!!!

just a fan :)
Perhaps do some googling about the main guy in SA behind Skyworth (Vijay Panday) and his dealings and manipulation of the DTT project that is currently holding back our telecoms industry.

Being a fan of skyworth is a bit like being a fan of Sarah Computers.

Not really, he's the local distributor, and while I don't support him or his actions the product is still good. He doesn't own skyworth....... Unless I'm wrong.

get a Mi Box S from Xiaomi - incredible has it for R1399.. worth all the money.. its google certified.. so all your apps from the playstore will work, etc .. games included and DSTV and Netflix runs at Full 4k .. not like those cheap android boxes that upscale 480p content.

I have the Skyworth Binge Android TV and mine is giving problems. Streaming is stutter and the device will freeze with every use. Tried multiple stuff to fix it, no luck. Need to send it back now for warranty claim. My parents also have a Skyworth and they are happy with it and no complaints (they use theirs also a lot more), also per Skyworth, this is the first report they get of these kind of issues. What I must say is, skyworth support replies quickly and they active on MyBB, which is a plus.

Had the Telkom LIT box as well, this was slower than the Skyworth, but did not have these issues and worked, but seems like my problems is an isolated event.

Anyways, now needing to do a warranty claim, I am going to be without a tv box, hence thinking of perhaps getting and testing a Mi Box S. If it works well, I keep it, if not so happy, then I sell it and keep the skyworth when I get it back.
