Description of Bad Deal:
Hey guys so i just thought id express my grievances here. Just some background, i stay in Johannesburg and my scammer stays in Durban, Ballito to be exact. I was supposed to buy items worth R6200 and was scammed out of it. My story is as follows:
On Tuesday morning i sent Wannabee a message on carbonite saying i was interested in buying his H105 and GALAX GTX 970 HOF from him. He replied saying someone (Who i later found out was waterkoppie) was already interested in the card, Later on that evening he sent me a message saying that the other person waterkoppie) hadn't made the payment and that i could take both items. I deposited R3700 into his account. As i didn't want to pay excessive charges i did a normal transfer rather than an immediate transfer. The next day he said he was also selling the rest of his pc setup for R2500 and he said if i do an immediate transfer he'd ship everything that same day. So i did an immediate transfer. After the transfer went through i heard nothing from him. I started to get a bit worried so i contacted him but he didn't answer.I then went back to the threads he had posted and noticed that Waterkoppie had said he had bought it. I contacted Waterkoppie and he said that he had done the transfer as well and that the graphics card was being shipped to him the next day which was today.I contacted Waterkoppie today and he has received his card. I am happy that he didn't get scammed too.
I tried contacting Venolin but he blocked my number. I sent him a message on facebook and instagram and his blocked me off those platforms too. He works at Volkswagen Ballito so i tried calling his work multiple times but everytime i get transferred through to him, someone else answers saying that his busy working on a car at the moment. I tell the person ill wait but after a few minutes i get the person back on the phone saying that Venolin cant come to the phone right now.
Im a student and have been saving up to buy a computer for quite a while now. I trusted him because he was a lurker and now i regret it. Iv posted a picture on this thread so everyone from Durban that meets him will know that Wannabee aka Venolin Govender is a scammer and that he scammed a varsity student whod saved up money for 2 years to buy a decent computer and that you may not fall into the same trap i have. Iv told him that Im going to name and shame him by sending all his friends on facebook a message telling them what kind of person Venolin really is. Since then his put his contact list on private but i have pictures of the names.
I know this might be a bit to much to ask but if any of the support team stay near the Volkswagen Ballito, if you wouldnt mind popping into them and just asking him nicely if i can please have my money back. I worked really hard for it and i guess its my fault. I think im just disappointed thats all.
